Final Status Report Section One - to be completed by the requestor I. General Information Project Name Project Manager Name BLOCPLAN - RFID Project Project Number 1 Luis Silva Date of Report 02/26/2015 II. Project Overview Describe the final product or service of the project, the reason the project was undertaken, and the purpose of the project. Include a description of the business problem that was solved by implementing this project. RFID system implementation has allowed ACME to strategically design their warehouse work-flow, monitor shipments, maintain inventory levels, and maximize production. It serves as a means to attract new clients while provide higher service levels to existing clientele. It has reduced inventory shrinkage and managed to increase fulfillment speeds. RFID technology is quickly becoming the standard inventory management system and ACME is creating a "first mover" advantage for themselves. ACME will be able to reduce labor and inventory management costs.

III. Project Goals and Objectives Identify the goals that were met during this project and compare them to the goals on the scope statement. 1) Implemented and installed RFID technology within 60days. Completed project on schedule. 2) Reduction in labor expenses ($45k annually). Still measuring because system has just taken effect. We are projected to meet or exceed our goal. 3) Optimized the warehouse layout with RFID technoloigy and BLOCPLAN. We engineered a better layout more condusive to rapid fulfillment and inventory management. 4) Ability to scale. We acquired a new client prior to project completion that is expected to generate $6 million annually. IV. Project Deliverables and Milestones Identify the major deliverable or milestones met, their due dates according to the final plan, their actual delivery dates, and stakeholder acceptance dates. 1) Project Budget. This was due on 2/20 per the original plan. We submitted for approval 2/21, and final approval was granted 2/27. 2) Order equipment. Due 3/15, ordered 3/20, arived 3/27. 3) Installation. System implementation scheduled for 4/1. Began full install on time, and finished on schedule 4/17. This includes adding an extra gate and 2 forklifts. 4) Testing and training. Originally scheduled for 4/15, began on 4/17, and ready for use by 4/20. Project timeline was met, despite some minor delays.

V. Project Budget Give a final overview of the project budget and variances from the budget. The project budget originally was set at $120k. This included equipment costs, installation, etc. Additionally we set a contingency fund at $12k (10%) and annual maintenance of $5k. Prior to project completion, we were presented with an opportunity to take on an additional client worth $6 million annually. In order to service the client we needed to add 1 RFID gate ($15k) and 2 forklifts ($5k). Being worth the additional monetary risk/reward, we went back to leadership to approve the final budget at $145k w/ $14.5k contingency (10%) and $5.5k maintenance VI. Quality Assurance Document acceptance of the quality criteria and inspections. Quality assurance was a major focus on the project because we wanted to make sure that inventory levels were accounted for accurately prior to system implementation. This way, testing the system would allow us to cross reference our numbers with those of the RFID system. This ensures accuracy and allows functional managers to measure variances. After installation and implementation, we began testing the system against our numbers. We discovered that they were fairly close (within 2-5 units). This indicates that the RFID system is working. We expected a small variance for human error.

VII. Comments Include any information that reminds stakeholders of agreements made concerning deliverable that were moved to phase two of the project, major problems that were encountered and how they were resolved, risk events that need further explanation, and so on. -An indirect benefit of RFID implementation is the enterprises ability to scale the business. Additional clients help drive and sustain the companies future success. -Retrofitting new equipment to the moded warehouse was difficult. Certified technicians needed to complete electrical work to code and ensure safe installation. -The budget was increased to bring on an additional client. This was done strategically (After the client signed a contract). This ensured a level of commitment to help protect the companies capital investment.

VIII. Final Acceptance and Signatures Provide a way for each stakeholder to indicate their acceptance of the project and sign their name.
