2 HISTORY 1973 META SYSTEM IS BORN. Our first entrepreneurial activities involved the development and realization of electronic devices used in automated control. Meta System Company Profile 2010 HISTORY Production of radio frequency broadcasting equipment, in particular, high frequency transmitters and power amplifiers, begins. In the same period, we launch into the automotive industry with the production of electronic antennae and car alarm systems. We develop the first custom integrated circuit of codified signals for radio command. The Energy branch is created, producing the first line of Meta System branded uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) products. Expansion of our car alarm division, creating specific accessory line products for prominant car manufacturers. Launch of our first series of modular and redundant UPS products. Collaboration with the major European based car companies for the supply of various specialised original equipment manufacturing (OEM) devices. We enter the automotive Telematics world with the innovative platform, Clear Box. We are focusing our innovative efforts on those areas which have historically been our strong points: automotive, telematics, and power supply systems Design and production using solar energy. All Meta System s plants are equipped with PV Systems for the use of clean energy. Total yearly energy production: kwh CO 2 saved per year: 340 ton. 2

11 QUALIFICATIONS & HOMOLOGATION To ensure our products conform to European requirements, national legislation, and, importantly, to the stringent standards set by the leading vehicle manufacturers, we created an internal laboratory dedicated to homologation. Thanks to the work of our highly specialised technicians and the internal availability of all the necessary equipment and dedicated tools needed for testing, we are able to check for correct behaviour of a product, even under the most extreme conditions. 25 QUALITY - Certifications Meta System from its very beginnings started along the path towards the pursuit of Quality, fully aware that present and future challenges could only be won through Customer Satisfaction and Maximum Efficiency. The Quality System we adopt was awarded certification to UNI EN ISO 9001 standards (94 revision) back in 1996, confirming the validity of our company philosophy. We were also awarded AVSQ 94 certification in 1999 for our OEM Auto product division (Original automotive equipment) according to AN- FIA specifications. We continue to follow an ever evolving quality roadmap with the aim of keeping in line with current requirements for certifcation. We achieved compliance with UNI EN ISO 9001 (2000 revision) certification in 2002 and in In 2004 we were awarded the latest certification in the field of Motor Vehicle OEM, in accordance with ISO/TS technical specifications. In 2007, all of our branches were awarded Environmental Management certification according to the ISO standard, a confirmation of our commitment to the environment. Recently, we also obtained the Automotive SPICE (ISO/IEC 15504) assessment for the development of software in the OEM domain. 30 Powered by GREEN ENERGY Meta System Company Profile 2010 GREEN ENERGY Since early 2009, five photovoltaic systems have been running in the offices and plants in Reggio Emilia and Mornago (Varese); they have a total capacity of over 480 kw and produce about 500 MWh a year of clean electricity. As well as helping to meet the energy needs of Meta System, these facilities avoid the emission of 340 tons of carbon dioxide and other pollutants annually, providing practical help to protect the environment. The solar park was among the first in Italy and is the demonstration of Meta System s commitment to environmentally-sustainable development and innovation: the environmental impact of business operations is reduced to a minimum while promoting techniques for energy saving and efficiency.
