Different levels of PPAP approvals described and aligned to the APQP framework to suit wind-specific business needs (interim approval). APQP Developed by Ford, Chrysler and GM. 8 APQP4Wind in short Vision Standardized and mature global wind industry supply chain with low cost of poor quality. Mission Provide standards, tools and methods for the global wind industry. Based on common accepted and available APQP principles and guidelines. Goal The aim of APQP4Wind is to strive for reducing risk when introducing new designs and components. Levelized cost of energy by reducing cost of poor quality for the wind turbine industry value chain. Develop and set common APQP4Wind standards for quality training, methods and procedures. Purpose To attain an aligned approach to supplier quality within the wind industry.

9 History of APQP4Wind February 2014 Autumn 2014 May 2015 December 2016 January 2017 Danish Wind Industry Associations held first QA network meeting, which marked the beginning of QA cooperation between utilities, manufacturers and suppliers, and the idea of the APQP in the wind industry was born. The APQP project steering committee consisting of KK Wind Solutions, LM Wind Power, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and Vestas, together with Danish Wind Industry Association start application process for funds from The Danish Industry Foundation. Application for funds approved and project period defined as The extensive project work of analyzing, defining and finalizing content begin. Implementation and maturation of the project, including creating website, training material etc. Kick-off event hosted by Vestas in Aarhus. November 2017 Preparation of organizational setup. June 2018 The project ends and will continue as the APQP4Wind organization.
