2 History Jamaica Bearings Company, under the same family ownership since 1934, serves as the foundation for the Jamaica Bearings Group (JBG). Originally a one person operation owned and managed by Frank Negri, it was Frank s ambition to become an industry leader by providing world class service to niche industries. As we grew and developed our specialization in the Aerospace, Rail, and Industrial markets, sales offices were added throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. The company continued to experience growth as we acquired Bobker Bearings Aerospace Division. In 1998, Jamaica Miniature Bearings was founded and shortly thereafter OEM West was acquired. These companies combined and now form our Precision Products Division (PPD). Frank Negri c.1935 on site at our first location in jamaica, ny Cambridge Manufacturing, founded in 1999, quickly became a leading value added engineering resource for our customers. In 2004, we acquired Eriks Aerospace (now Jamaica Aerospace), adding seals and other synergistic product lines, and a robust and distinctive kitting program to our offering. In 2006, the Jamaica Bearings Group was established: Jamaica Bearings Co., Precision Products Division, Jamaica Aerospace Co., and Cambridge Manufacturing. Each member company maintains specific areas of expertise but all have synergistic product offerings. As part of the Jamaica Bearings Group, they can draw on our resources as a whole.
