1 Request for Proposals For Moving & Storage Services for the Morton Public Library District Date: January 22, 2018 The Morton Public Library District is seeking proposals for services to move its contents (approx. 19,000 square feet) from the current location at 315 W. Pershing St, Morton, IL to an insured, climate-controlled storage site (to be provided by mover). Contents will then be moved back into the renovated facility four to six weeks later. General Information Library upgrades including new paint and carpet is scheduled to begin March 2018 and end May The moving services will physically relocate furnishings and materials to storage spaces and move everything back into the finished space in April or May Scope of Services One meeting with staff members to review process, plans and timelines prior to the move; Provision of labor to remove collection materials from the shelves, disassemble the shelves, store items at offsite storage facility, return materials and shelving to newly renovated space, and reassemble/reshelve according to architect s plan. Provision of labor to move library furnishings and equipment, supplies, and other necessary items identified by staff. Provision of materials necessary to move: boxes, containers, labels, equipment and vehicles. Provision of insured, climate controlled storage site to store items.

The library will also pack its magazines, newspapers and games.

5 Submittals Please submit the following for consideration in evaluation of the proposal: Three professional references (with a minimum of one reference for a library or book store move) including a name and current contact telephone number, the name of project manager proposed for this move and any additional information that you believe to be pertinent or helpful for consideration by the library. Certificate of insurance also required. Schedule There will be a MANDATORY pre-bid walk-through held on January 31 at 2:00 pm in the Reuling Room of the Morton Public Library. Bids are due by 3pm on February 8, Bid opening will take place immediately following deadline. The move window is scheduled between March 16-31, Return to the building is scheduled for late April 2018 or early May 2018, depending on project progress that date is subject to change. Special Notes: While there are no loading docks into the library, there are also no stairs.
