2 Food logistic systems Conveying systems The conveyor systems are designed for crates, cartons, trays, roll containers, pallets, and isotainers for connecting production areas. Tailor-made solutions such as sorters, mergers and crossovers are integrated into a total logistics system based on modular components that incorporate special functions and/or third party equipment. The conveying system features a hygienic and robust construction in stainless steel that is easy to clean and maintain. This modular construction allows for fast and easy installation, modification or extension, resulting in a minimum of disruption. Empty crate buffer systems Empty crate buffer systems with flow management are connected to the various production areas. The demanddriven supply of clean empty crates is achieved efficiently and economically by using a fully automatic transport system. Cleaned crates (previously cleaned or from the internal loop) are stacked and stored on twin belt conveyor lines to save space. Washing systems The washing systems can be used for crates, roll containers, pallets, isotainers and containers. The product range comprises everything from manually operated feed-through systems to fully automatic washing systems with automatic loading and stacking of the cleaned units. Depending on the required output, hygiene requirements and residual moisture, single or dual-track solutions can be designed and produced in modular components with corresponding drying equipment. Interactive control and software solutions Electrical hardware and software solutions support the MPS philosophy to have all necessary know-how and added value in-house and are designed to maximise system performance and availability. Software and hardware engineering is performed by our own experienced and skilled engineering team. Interactive process supervision for maintenance and active control follow the way of thinking of the operator, ensuring smooth interaction between man and machinery. A graphic overview and up-to-the-minute management reporting are a few of the tools that help you improve everyday performance. 2

3 The in-house produced automatic cranes are the fastest and most energy-friendly systems in the market. Automatic storage and retrieval systems Automatic storage and retrieval systems optimise logistic processes by streamlining storage, order picking, replenishment and order consolidation. This makes it possible to disconnect individual production, order handling and shipping processes, thereby maximising overall efficiency and throughput and ensuring the highest productivity levels in the individual working positions. Automatic cranes The cranes are constructed in stainless steel and anodised aluminium, guided via floor mounted rails and servo-motor driven. Two cranes can be operated on one rail to achieve increased throughput. The miniload system is characterised by high-speed performance, low energy consumption, low noise levels, accurate movements and solid, hygienic construction. Shuttle solution for the food market A hygienic version suitable for the wet conditioned environment has been developed especially for the food market. Like our automatic cranes, the shuttle solution is characterised by high-speed performance, low energy consumption, low noise levels, accurate movements and solid, hygienic construction. 3

4 Commissioning systems and sorters Commissioning systems and sorters are designed as a dynamic picking location via flow racks or a zone picking system. Marel commissioning systems are characterised by efficient and error-free order processing. Order processing operators are guided and supported by the relevant technology (scanners, pick-to-light) to deliver high performance and error-free commissioning with the highest number of order lines per hour. Thanks to the standardised software, operators have an overview of the status and performance of the order processing activities at all times, from order picking to consolidation and shipping. Material handling equipment Stackers, de-stackers, palletisers, de-palletisers, roll container loading stations, lifts, robotised pick and place systems, labeling & weighing systems - you name it. Marel has its own engineering and production capacities that, in addition to standardised machines for standard applications, also produce special machines based on specific customer requirements. These designs are based on proven technology, solid construction and man-machine interaction. 4
