3 ORLEANS PARISH SCHOOL BOARD PURCHASING/ANCILLARY SERVICES DEPARTMENT 3520 General De Gaulle Drive, 5 TH Floor, Room 5078 New Orleans, Louisiana INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS Sealed bids will be received by the Orleans Parish School Board in the Purchasing Department, 3520 General De Gaulle Drive, 5 th Floor, Room 5078, New Orleans, Louisiana 70114, until 4:00 P.M on WEDNESDAY, JULY 16, 2014 for the SALE OF SALVAGED PROJECT MATERIALS FOR THE ORLEANS PARISH SCHOOL BOARD with the following specifications, at which time and place the bids will be opened and read aloud. A signed original shall be submitted in a sealed envelope and clearly marked: RESPONSE TO INVITATION TO SEALED BID NO , SALE OF SALVAGED PROJECT MATERIALS FOR THE ORLEANS PARISH SCHOOL BOARD TO BE SUBMITTED, WEDNESDAY, JULY 16, 2014 AT 4:00 P.M. and addressed to the Purchasing/Ancillary Services Department, Orleans Parish School Board, 3520 General De Gaulle Drive, 5th Floor, Room 5078, New Orleans, Louisiana The name and address of the company submitting the bid must appear on the top left corner of the envelope containing the bid document. Hand-carried and express mail bids may be delivered to the above address ONLY between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. local time, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays observed by the OPSB. The Orleans Parish School Board will not be responsible for the opening of, post-opening of, or failure to open a bid not properly addressed or identified. The Orleans Parish School Board will not assume the responsibility for any delay as a result of failure of the mail to deliver bids on time. No bids will be accepted after 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 under any conditions whatsoever. In order for your company to be provided proof of delivery time, bids should be hand delivered, sent by registered mail, or private carrier only to the Purchasing/Ancillary Services Department, 3520 General De Gaulle Drive, 5th Floor, Room 5078, New Orleans, Louisiana The Orleans Parish School Board is not liable for any costs incurred in the preparation of the bid. INSPECTION: ITEMS MAY BE INSPECTED FROM 2:00 PM TO 4:00 PM ON JULY 1, JULY 8, AND JULY 15, 2014 AT 428 BROADWAY STREET, NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA BIDDERS ARE INVITED AND URGED TO INSPECT THE SALVAGED PROJECT MATERIALS THAT ARE TO BE SOLD PRIOR TO SUBMITTING BIDS. CONSIDERATION OF PROPERTY: All property listed herein is offered for sale AS IS, WHERE IS without recourse against the Orleans Parish School Board. REMOVAL OF PROPERTY: The successful bidder will be required to remove the salvaged project materials from the Orleans Parish School Board premises no later than fifteen (15) days Invitation to Bid no Page 3 of 10 Sale of Salvaged Project Materials

4 from the date of the bid opening or be charged a $100 per day storage fee until all items have been removed. METHOD OF PAYMENT: Bidders are required to submit a Money Order, Cashier s or Certified Check made payable to the Orleans Parish School Board equal to twenty-five (25) percent of the total amount of the bid. The Unsuccessful Bidders security will be returned immediately after the bid opening. PAYMENT: Final payment must be made and receipt acknowledged by OPSB before any of the items are removed from the Orleans Parish School Board s property. The forms furnished as part of the specifications MUST be used for filing of bid and must be signed by the proposer. No bids will be considered unless made on the form provided. Failure to follow these instructions may result in your bid being disqualified. AWARD: The sale of the salvaged project materials will be awarded to the highest bidder. The Orleans Parish School Board is not liable for any costs incurred in the preparation of the bid. Any costs incurred in the preparation of the bid, is the responsibility of the bidder. The Orleans Parish School Board will be indemnified from any and all liability resulting from the condition and disposal of the materials once transition is completed.
