10 CONTAINER HANDLING SYSTEM The handling system and the buffering of containers helps to improve processes related to intralogistics within the FMCG sector. The system ensures: uninterrupted transport of products in containers, management of empty containers, short loading and unloading time, and maximisation of the use of space in the buffer zone. The system offers the ability to transport two or more different objects that have different dimensions, different weights and different coefficients of surface friction on the bottom of containers (plastic, metal, etc.). TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Load capacity up to 300 kg/container Efficiency up to 300 containers/h LOAD TYPE Roll containers a solution for storage of loose goods, packaging, bags or containers. Thermally insulated containers an ideal device for storage of fresh and frozen products in the cold supply chain. They are used for storage of FMCG products such as: food, beverages and alcohols. This is an intralogistics solution for both empty and full packages with the loads. The main processes involve: handling of dry goods in roll containers and handling of fresh and frozen products in thermally insulated containers. 12 CARTON AND TOTE HANDLING SYSTEM Transport lines are connected by a set of belt, roller and strip conveyors. The machine can run along a single level or move upwards or downwards to other levels and change direction of travel. Automated, effective and safe transport of light loads such as cardboard boxes and containers. TYPES OF LOAD HANDLED Boxes of various dimensions and empty weights light loads e.g. plastic containers AREAS OF USE Transport lines may carry light loads from the very beginning of the production process, e.g. from the release of the cardboard box from the box maker forming the box, to box-loading stations, followed by box-closing stations, to the last part of the line - the picking station, where the boxes are stacked (picked) and placed in a specific mold on pallets by a robot palletiser. As the boxes are moving, it is possible to scan the barcodes, which can be used to determine e.g. the route for the load. Cardboard box and container transport systems are used by industries such as Retail, e-commerce and FMCG. 15 CONVEYORS Conveyors provide free transfer of various loads, both vertically and horizontally. They are used in production facilities, warehouses and at product picking stations, where fast and effective movement of loads is essential. The option to combine conveyors with other internal transport machines allows for designing transportation lines that enable the movement of loads over any length and in any form. All of our conveyors rely on steel structures. 16 VERTICAL TRANSPORT DEVICES Vertical transport devices to lift and lower loads. AUTOMATION OF TRANSPORT SYSTEM Vertical conveyor is a transport system component used to lift or lower cargo to a desired level. On such devices, the most commonly installed conveyors are roller and chain conveyors, on which e.g. pallets with loads of different dimensions can be transported. 17 TRANSPORT TRUCKS A short-distance transport device for conveyor lines where transported loads require change of direction. INTEGRATION WITH PRODUCTION LINE Transport trucks are intended for horizontal transport of packages within warehouses. Both driven as well as non-driven trucks are produced. They can be used to send transported material, sort or divide finished products between processing lines. The modular design of the trucks makes it possible to couple from 1 to 6 loading stations on one truck. WORK SAFETY Smart security system for detecting obstacles during a truck's movement, light and sound signalling and low noise level during a truck's operation, enhanced work ergonomics. 18 PALLET STACKERS Devices to stack pallets on top of each other sandwich type pallet construction. Pallet stacking system consists of stand-alone modules integrated with the transport lines which are used to stack two pallets with loads. AUTOMATED PALLET STACKING These modules are installed both behind and in front of automatic pallet wrapping machines and their installation within the system allows automation of the pallet stacking process. These systems are used for pallets with unstable, light loads when palletising products with high heights is impossible. Stacking the pallets (one on top of another) makes it possible to stabilise the load whilst maximising the use of space in further distribution. Depending on their construction, these modules may also be used for automatic stacking of two pallets with a DPH load (800x600mm) onto a EURO pallet (1200x800) for their further storage in automated warehouse systems or buffer warehouses for EURO pallets. AUTOMATED STORAGE Pallet depot is a device based on a stable, faultfree and proven construction that provides fully automated stacking, dispensing and storage of pallets. It is intended mainly for warehouses and production plants with a large number of fastmoving pallets in technological and warehousing processes. Through its function and construction, it greatly increases efficiency and safety on the production line. 20 [RUN&GO] SHEET METAL DEPOT The sheet metal depot allows for easy and quick access to the storage of materials, reduces the time needed to access them and saves on storage space. AUTOMATED STORAGE The automated storage of materials is a universal solution as it may be used in almost any branch of industry and at every production stage, from the tool shop to the production hall. The system is excellent as a stand for storing sheet metal, chipboards, cardboards, crates, pallets or spare parts as well as for buffer storage. SPACE SAVING The sheet metal depot utilizes over 95% of the warehouse space in relation to the standard distribution of pallets on the floor or a standard shelf. 21 [RUN&GO] ROBO WASH&DRY Automated system for transport, washing and drying of thermally insulated containers used in distribution centres supporting the logistics of fresh and frozen products. INNOVATIONS Automated washing of thermally insulated containers at low temperatures between 2 and 5 degrees Celsius, with high humidity. Smart measuring systems and quality control development of a system which detects contamination of food containers. Only contaminated containers are washed by the washing robot. The system identifies the nature of contamination in order to apply correct washing parameters. EFFICIENCY Greater efficiency of the process and lower energy consumption. The robot offers the possibility to dry food containers multi-axle work of the cylinder provides faster and more accurate drying. OPTIMISATION The optimal use of resources. The use of two compressors allows simultaneous drying on two transport routes. Detection of the contents of a container prior to washing enables selective washing. 23 OPTIMUM SOLUTIONS FMCG INDUSTRY CASE STUDY CISOWIANKA Speed is no longer a challenge Doubling the productivity of the system of pallet pick up and distribution from all bottling lines to the depot. MANUFACTURER'S CHALLENGES The transport process based on fork-lift trucks became inefficient, limiting the use of full production capacity. Another challenge related to the building infrastructure was the placement of manufacturing machinery and necessity to provide circulation routes between process lines. COMPANY Nałęczów Zdrój S.A. EFFICIENT USE OF RESOURCES HIGHER OUTPUT PROCESS RELIABILITY KNOW-HOW IN THE FMCG SECTOR Europa Systems designed, produced and implemented a system for collecting finished pallets from the automatic palletiser area, and their further distribution to the warehouse zone located in the next building. The complete system is composed of over 100 devices with a total transporting length of 320 metres. Automatic pallet shuttles with laser scanners have been installed in places where the transportation lines cross circulation routes. The entire system controls have been integrated with the WMS system. 100% EFFICIENCY INCREASE Production capacity and throughput from bottling lines to the warehouse increased to 200 pallets per hour, which helped increase sales by PLN 100 million. COST REDUCTION Reduction of fork-lift fleet maintenance and operation costs by replacing it with an automated conveyor line. SAFETY The removal of fork-lift trucks from the manufacturing area to the warehouse area lowered the risk of collisions with parts of the building infrastructure and improved workplace safety
