4 N e w s tat e o f t h e a r t New ideas, high tech materials and Essemtec philosophies the combination for your success The Paraquda is based on a mineral cast machine frame which offers damping characteristics that are ten times better then steel castings. Combined with a unique H-drive servo motion system with high resolution linear glass scales, allow you to run the machine at high speed with highest accuracy. The motion controller is based on decentralised intelligence, making sure the machine can optimise all axes at full speed. A fully programmable, 4-nozzle placement head with independent z- and rotation axis with high resolution encoders provide additional placement accuracy for today s and future ranges of SMD components. Fully automated calibration routines and a unique mapping system of the total machine guarantees placement precision not yet known in this machine category. The Paraquda is available for inline (SMEMA), batch or stand-alone productions. A unique, three-stage conveyor system allows fast board transfers and secure clamping of PCB with supporting pins underneath. Stand alone systems can be loaded with any mix of boards.

Latest software development tools and.net based, it offers a complete inter active, intelligent and intuitive tool to control all parameters. Through the 19 wide touch screen, eplace revolutionizes the programming and use of a pick and place machine. Real time presentation of all machine activities, touch screen interface without the need for a keyboard, zoom functions on camera windows, a variety of search and filter functions plus automatic entry verification and correction are just a few advantages that help you to work securely and efficiently with the machine.

6 N e w d e f i n i t i o n o f f l e x i b i l i t y Feeders for highly flexible, high-mix assembly Running a highly flexible production requires a large amount of feeders. The Paraquda offers up to 240 intelligent feeders in the stand-alone version and feeders in the inline version (depending on the board side). The machine can be operated using servo driven, fully programmable, intelligent feeders, but can also be operated by the widely installed FLX/CSM feeders, though protecting feeder investments of existing Essemtec customers. Feeders are automatically recognized by the machine and can be changed or even reloaded during operation, reducing down time to zero, making the Paraquda the most versatile SMD placement system in the market. To speed up placements, nozzle banks for 32 up to 96 nozzles allow multiple nozzle set ups. The unique nozzle design offers steel and ceramic nozzles for any application. Additional special nozzles for odd-shape components or any other application are available.

7 N e w d e f i n i t i o n o f f l e x i b i l i t y One machine does it all Components from up to 100 x 100 mm can be picked and placed by all 4 high-accuracy placement axes of the Paraquda. A maximum com ponent height of up to 25 mm allows to place any size of components. Fine-pitch components down to 0.3 mm, BGA s, MicroBGA s, CSP, QFN or even oddshape components can be placed. Components are centred via the ultra fast fly by vision based on Cognex SMD 4. The fully programmable flash light arrangement in combination with the 5 mega pixel camera system, ensures centering of all kind of components.

8 A d d i t i o n a l f e at u r e d i s p e n s i n g 2 in 1 The effectiveness multiplier New technologies often demand additional process steps. With the integration of state-of-the-art dispensing systems, the Paraquda allows you to dispense on the same platform adhesives, fluxes, but also highly accurate solder paste. Additional costs for prototyping stencils, stepped stencils or additional dispensing equipment is eliminated. Up to two dispensing valves can be mounted and the possibility to install time/pressure or screw valves, but also Jet and Piezo Flow valves offer the possibility to do any dispensing task. No additional programming is needed; the Paraquda takes this data directly out of the existing placement file.

9 Q u a l i t y a s s u r a n c e Ensure your PCB quality For more than 12 years, Essemtec has been offering intelligent feeders to the market. Based on this know-how, Paraquda takes this idea one step further. Simply link the component via bar code to a feeder, place the feeder in any slot of the machine and start the production. All information is linked within the software allowing traceability of data throughout the process and can be linked with MIS/MES systems. Set-up verification additionally avoids any operator errors while reloading feeders with new components. An optional component verification system (CVU) additionally measures components for their electrical value before they are placed on the PCB. Limitation ranges and test cycles can be simply set in the eplace program.
