3 Technically up to date The Deep Sea fleet consists of over 20,000 tank containers. All of the tanks are optimally insulated and have the option of steam heating. In addition, customers can choose between different sets of special equipment. These include, amongst others, tank containers for temperature-controlled transport operations and tank containers with baffles or various types of linings. Deep Sea also offers numerous IBC types and has flexitanks that it manufactures itself. At the request of the respective customer, the transport equipment can be equipped with GPS tracking devices. IBCs are the ideal alternative to drums and road tankers when transporting liquid products and have a capacity of 500 to 1,000 litres. The tank container fleet is made up primarily of standardised types; however, special tanks are developed to meet individual customer preferences. Special gas containers are available from 20 to 40 foot and are used for the transport of compressed as well as pressurised liquefied and cryogenic gases. Flexitanks have a capacity of 16 to 24 cubic metres and are particularly well-suited for transporting liquid non-hazardous chemicals and foodstuffs. Every product has its own unique attributes. The chosen transport solution must be just as individual, with the right equipment playing a decisive role in this process. The Deep Sea business unit has access to its own database containing tens of thousands of products, on the basis of which it always structures a suitable logistical concept for the respective goods. With its supply chain solutions (SCS), moreover, Deep Sea offers extensive value-added services for the chemical industry. The SCS service portfolio covers on-site logistics, the filling and blending of liquid chemical products, the operation of intermodal and dangerous goods terminals as well as dry-bulk logistics.
