5 Trim Placement & Uses General Instructions for Placement: Tickets should be attached though the care/content label and easily visible unless indicated otherwise below or by PO memo. Hangtags: For Denim: Placement should be looped to the second belt loop on the wearer s left side. If possible, tuck hangtag into back pocket to protect it during shipping. For Heat Seal Garments: Tops with heat seals should have the hangtag applied outside the garment on the wearer s left armhole seam. Hoodies and Jackets should have the hangtag looped on the zipper pull. For Jackets: Zippered Jackets: Loop hangtag through the zipper pull. Buttoned Jackets: Loop on the second button down from top of jacket. For Pants With Belt loops: pinned to the wearer s front left side on the first belt loop. Without Belt Loops: pinned 5 inches from center on wearer s left front side. For Skirts Hangtag attachment should be looped through the first belt loop from the wearer s front left of center. Without Belt Loops: pinned 5 from center on wearer s left front side. For Tops Safety pinned in the main label, unless top has a zipper or button then use same placement as used for jackets. For Wash Before Wear (WBW) Tags Placement should be attached with price ticket. WBW tag will lay behind the price ticket and will be attached using the same swiftach. NOTE: WBW is not needed for white denim. The price ticket and the wash before wear tag must be attached with the same swiftach. Heat Seals: For styles with sleeves, attach tickets inside through the shoulder seam salvage at wearer s left neck seam. For items with shoulder straps, attach the ticket inside through back strap join at the wearer s left side. For bottoms use a 2 inch clear bullet and attach the ticket where the wearer s left side seam meets the bottom of the waistband. Troubleshooting The key to successful performance of this product is proper application to the substrate. There are four critical variables that contribute to the success of fusible A. Temperature B. Time C. Pressure D. Peeling We do not allow hang irons to be used when applying this product. The heat seal transfers should be stored in a cool, dry area at room temperatures no higher than 90F / 32C. The application settings recommended are: temperature at 300º-400ºF / 149º-177ºC, dwell time is 3-4 seconds and pressure is psi (medium). To Resolve Problems Always Check: dwell time, temperature and pressure or replace the bottom pad. You can check the heating element by using a pyrometer to check the actual temperature. The problem could also be a dirty platen. Common Problems And Solutions: If the transfer edges are lifting up, the probable cause is improper handling of the garment. The garment should remain flat. If the fabric color is bleeding through, the probable cause if too much pressure, heat or dwell time. Try reducing the pressure, heat or dwell time. If the transfers are not sticking to the garment, the probable causes are not enough dwell time, heat or pressure and could be a defective bottom pad or heating element. If a halo appears around the letters, the cause could be not enough dwell time or pressure. Lane Bryant Label & Marketing Manual Location: Revision Date: MAY 2013 Supersedes All Manuals Col. OH 3

6 Trim Placement & Uses (Continued) Labels (Main & Care): All Merchandise shipped to Lane Bryant is required to have a logo label permanently affixed and free from loose threads. Failure to attach the logo garment label, will result in refusal of merchandise at the vendor s expense or a charge back. In two piece garments that are sold as a set, the logo label the legal information (country of origin, care instructions, fiber content and RN #) are required in both pieces. In general, no stitching used to attach labels should be visible on the outside of the garment. Attach all labels in a manner which eliminates raw edges on the label that may fray/unravel. Labels must be stitched with matching thread, monofilament nylon thread is unacceptable. NOTE: Labels must not be dyed or printed. If labels will be affected by printing process, carefully top sew labels after the printing process. Care/Content Label Information All care/content labels will be color-coordinated to the main label. All care/content labels must be ordered from the appropriate Lane Bryant-authorized label suppliers to assure an exact match. The format for the care/content label will include the country of origin statement (Made in...). For guidance on care instructions, please reference the Charming Shoppes Inc. Quality Assurance Manual. To order the labels, vendors need to specify the following information to the authorized label suppliers, longer care instructions may require a longer label. Main Label Name and Code Quantity by Size Size Information Fabric Content Country of Origin Care Instructions LB RN Number (#118641) Factory ID Number Style Number Label: A separate label is needed to track the style number of the garment. Please print the style number on a nylon label (white label, black text) with dimensions of 20mm long x 16mm wide. This label is to be placed behind the care label, or If a heat seal is used, in the side seam. This label may be vendor produced. Jokers: Generally jokers are machine tacked to the garment using 2 threads 3/4 of an inch up from the bottom of the joker tag (in matching thread) and a 1/4 of an inch away from the edge of the joker. To order the marketing attachments, vendors need to specify the following information to the authorized suppliers: Item Description and Code Total Quantity or Quantity by Size Garment Style Information (if applicable) Placement - (All bottoms; front and side hanging) The joker tag should be placed on the BACK of the garment, on the wearer s left side. As you face the side of the garment, the outside right edge of the joker tag should be exactly six inches to the right of the side seam. If adjustments need to be made due to belt loop placement or other details, the tag can move closer to the side seam. Note: All items with an elastic waistband should be fully extended before measuring. The elastic should also be extended when attaching the joker tags. Price Tickets: All merchandise is to be pre-ticketed. Failure to attach price tickets will result in refusal of merchandise at the vendor s expense or a charge back. For 2-piece garments sold as a set a ticket must be on both pieces. In the event you are shipped incorrect tickets, new tickets cannot be applied over old tickets. Vendors must not use unauthorized or altered price tickets. Please verify the price ticket information matches the purchase order, the color code must match the color of the merchandise.
