2 WETBETON batching and mixing plants are state of the art plants for concrete production. They are the result of nearly 50 years of experience combined with continuous R&D progress, in order to provide the best available solutions for our customers. The WETBETON plants are comprised using SIMEM s wide range of standard elements. This makes it possible to incorporate most layout and capacity demands without requiring new inventions, making the process from offer request to plant operation, shorter and less complicated. Furthermore, future plant modifications are made easier due to the use of our standard elements philosophy. A good example of this philosophy is the NEXUS line of aggregate storing and batching units. In the development of the NEXUS line, the goal of the SIMEM R&D department was to create a solution that was optimal in terms of modularity, making it easy to adjust to different customer requirements, not only in regards to the number of aggregates and storage, but also in making a product that could be easily upgraded as demands change. With this in mind, the NEXUS line became a bolt together structure that can be modified at any time in regards to the number of aggregates and storage capacity. 3 WETBETON RELIABILITY The products excellent reliability is further ensured by a careful selection of sub suppliers for pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical components, as well as the drives and belts. This results in a very flexible product trusted by ready mix producers and contractors for large scale projects like dams, airports, tunnels, etc. Through the experience from projects such as these, the WETBETON series is not only designed to be the optimal solution, it has been tested and proven as well.

4 WETBETON INDUSTRIAL CONCRETE The concrete business is continuously evolving and along with it, the requirements for increased quality control and process optimization. There is also an increased need to manufacture product at reduced unit prices as production quantities increase. In this context the SIMEM WETBETON series represents an effective solution thanks to its modularity and excellent quality. SIMEM is able to offer a super plant simply by assembling standard components in special configurations, implementing multiple solutions in terms of loading points, types, storage, etc., resulting in plants with large storage and production capacities at a very competitive cost and a small footprint. Plants that have multiple s with a production capacity of 720m 3 /h and simultaneous discharge from each, along with a storage capacity of 650 m 3 for aggregate and 1200 tons of cement, or more if required, are in daily operation. These plants are controlled by SIMEM PC based control systems, which allow for a single operator to control the entire process.

5 EXTENSIVE CONFIGURATION AVAILABILITY SIMEM WETBETON plants can be configured for any requested capacity due to the extensive range of SIMEM twin shaft and planetary s that have output capacities ranging from 0.5 to 9 m 3 per batch with compacted concrete. Furthermore, the aggregate storage section is easily adapted to the available space with 2 standard widths (2.8 or 3.8 meter) and a modular system with panels that can handle a capacity range from 10 to 90 m 3 for each fraction, with the possibility to combine up to 20 different fractions. The assembly of SIMEM WETBETON plants are made simple and easy due to the pre-wired and pre-plumed modular units.

6 PROCESS STREAMLINING The configuration of the batching and mixing plant is one of the key factors in ensuring that the process on the production site is optimally organized. Flexibility is one of the most important advantages of the SIMEM WETBETON series, offering multiple solutions to match ever-changing situations. If space is a problem, an alternative to the traditional solution of belt feeding the aggregate to the is the skip hoist. The skip hoist moves on rails by the means of a winch for aggregate discharge into the. The use of ground loading systems also allows for optimization of the plant layout, particularly in terms of the traffic pattern.

7 PROCESS CONTROL SOLUTIONS The SIMEM process control systems are designed to allow a single operator control of the entire process including the dispatch. The Smem@tic RMX systems have utilized the latest software and hardware solutions, thereby making them not only user-friendly, but also with the coordination of innovative solutions for the electrical panels and layout, the installation time is reduced to a minimum. Custom software and hardware solutions can be designed to meet special customer requirements.
