Kenya Airways and our partners THS North & East Cargo Award Winner Aviation Solutions (AVS) was incorporated in Dubai in mid-2015 to offer GSA/GSSA services, Charter Brokerage, and Cargo Capacity Management - services to the greater market. Its incorporation coincided primarily with the appointment of AVS as the Global GSA for Safe Air Cargo (K3). Whilst the initial registration processes with IATA and other regulatory bodies took a period of 18 months to complete, the core activities of AVS kick-started during the last quarter of 2016 In the preceding 13 months, the footprint of AVS and K3 have expanded across many continents thanks to the support of our customers, partners, and stakeholders; highlights of which are summarised below. Total volume of cargo moved - 847,000 kilograms (847 metric tons) 20+ Interline agreements finalised covering 06 continents 04 primary hubs created at Singapore, Sharjah (UAE), Nairobi (Kenya), and Lagos (Nigeria) to cater to the Hub and Spoke operations of K3 K3 operated its maiden flight in to India in June of 2017 to carry military supplies for the Kenya Defence via a technical stop-over in Muscat utilising its own B Freighter K3 now covers operations within the continents of Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. Pending registration of the K3 MAWB with US Customs, the necessary interline agreements are already in place to commence operations to North and South America - thus providing K3 coverage across 06 continents New Delhi, FL was awarded for being the Emerging Freight Forwarder Company in India Cargo Awards North & East 2017 Whilst the 2017 developments have been significant given that operations commenced from a standstill position, 2018 promises to be an exciting year, with expansion plans in place to elevate both AVS and K3 on to a truly global platform.
