1 REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) : UNCOOLED THERMAL IMAGER (TI) TYPE PASSIVE NIGHT SIGHT (PNS) FOR RIFLE AK Ministry of Defence, Government of India is desirous of procuring uncooled TI type PNS for Rifle AK-47. With the view to identify probable vendors who can undertake the said project, OEMs/ vendors are requested to forward information on the product which they can offer. The parameters/ broad specifications of the item are mentioned in the questionnaire attached as per Appendix A. In addition the vendors are requested to furnish details as per proforma at Appendix B. 2. The Passive Night Sight should be a light weight and ruggedised uncooled TI Technology based device to enable accurate engagement of pin point target by use of Rifle AK-47 at night/ hours of darkness/ indoor dark areas. 3. Apart from the information as per the Appendices, the vendors may also forward technical details/ product brochures/ literature etc pertaining to the item in question. 4. 3 3 Appendix A (Refers to Para 1 of RFI) QUESTIONNAIRE 1. Following parameters/ specifications of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) equipment is requested in the responses to our Request for Information :- Ser Question/ Specification No (a) Technology. Specify the technology of uncooled Thermal Imaging based Passive Night Sight (PNS) being offered (b) Reticle Pattern. Will the reticle pattern in the PNS indicate range as well as give out lead and aiming marks? Will the reticle pattern allow the firer to engage targets accurately? If yes, please provide details of the same. (c) The PNS desired is of 1x optical zoom type with 2x and 4x electronic zoom facility. What is the maximum detection and recognition ranges possible of a single standing human target under clear night conditions with 1x optical zoom? (d) What is the field of view of the device? (e) What is the minimum weight of the device (with and without battery and mount), which is able to meet the parameters as in Para 1(c) above? (f) What is the detector resolution? (g) Does the PNS have image polarity with facility for changing the same? (h) What will be the service life of the PNS? (j) What are the various types of controls being provided for optimum utilisation of the PNS? Reply
