1 30 November 2016 Dear Customer, Vietnam : Demurrage and Detention Tariff 2017 In an effort to offer our customers an overall transparent, consistent and easy shipping experience, Maersk Line will be redefining our global compensation basics of Demurrage, Detention and Storage with effect from 1 January We will be introducing the following changes to our Vietnam surcharge structure and calculation methods in order to align with the new global practices. We have taken steps to minimize any customer felt impact and wish to emphasize that the new structure does not represent any significant change to the way you currently do business with Maersk Line in Vietnam. Definition: Demurrage means compensation incurred by customer for utilising equipment beyond the given free time inside the terminal. Detention means compensation incurred by customer for utilising equipment beyond the given free time outside the terminal. Separation of Storage We will separate Storage from Demurrage. This allows a clear distinction of the compensation applied for utilising the port, terminal or depot facilities (Storage), and the compensation incurred for utilisation of equipment beyond the agreed free time days inside terminals or depots (Demurrage). Storage means compensation for utilising the port, terminal or depot or inland container yard facilities. For Vietnam export shipments, the compensation for Storage related to use of Terminal or Depot facilities will continue to be settled directly by customers to terminal. Export tariff charges effective 1 January 2017 Our setup in Vietnam will be Combined Demurrage & Detention. This means you will have one combined free time period and compensation for utilisation of equipment inside and outside of terminals or depots, referred to as Combined Demurrage & Detention. The Combined Demurrage and Detention Export will be calculated based on the actual Load date of the container, there will be the change from today as vessel ETD to Load. And calculation method will be Progressive calculation.

3 Import tariff charges effective 1 January 2017 Customers will be offered Demurrage and Detention. This means you will have separate free time and compensation for utilisation of equipment inside (Demurrage) and outside (Detention) of terminals or depots including compensation for utilising the port, terminal or depot facilities, from vessel discharge to gate in empty.
