Harvie, Chief Administrative Officer In response to Council's request for information related to navigational issues within the Fraser River the following individuals will be providing a presentation at a Council Workshop on October 6,2014: Mr. Chris Wellstood, Harbour Master, Port Metro Vancouver The Harbour Master is responsible for providing leadership and guidance in all facets of port marine logistics and operations; ensuring secure, safe, efficient freight flow and environmental protection within Port Metro Vancouver's marine jurisdiction. Mr. Kevin Obermeyer, CEO, Pacific Pilotage Authority The Pacific Pilotage Authority (the Authority) is a federal Crown corporation whose mandate is to administer marine pilot services to international vessels travelling in the waters of western Canada, including the Fraser River. Mr. Mike Armstrong, Fraser River Pilots The Fraser River Pilots are employees of the Authority and are responsible for pilotage services within the Fraser River. The BC Coast Pilots are a separate company that contracts pilotage services to the Authority. Fraser River Pilots bring "Local Knowledge" and expert ship handling ability on board vessels that are navigating in the river, ensuring a safe and efficient transit.
