3 Course Outline Course Name: GS1 BarCodes (English) Description: Objective: Target audience: Prerequisites: Why participate: GS1 Bar Codes training course aims at providing a basic grounding on the advantages, uses and indeed limitations of each of the GS1 endorsed Bar Code Symbologies. It covers the most important aspects and is an ideal course to prepare students for more detailed applications of the overall GS1 System. Along with the GS1 Application Identifiers & ID Keys training course, this course provides a foundation for additional Bar Code and ID Key related courses. It is also part of the broader GS1 training program that leads toward the internationally endorsed entry-level certificate. Upon completion of this course, students will have a broad understanding of the major Bar Code concepts and background on each of the endorsed GS1 symbologies. GS1 Application Identifiers & ID Keys training course aims at providing the key principles of GS1 Identification. How each of the numbers are structured, how various data elements interrelate and points to additional information sources. Upon completion of this course, students will have a broad understanding of the GS1 Identification Keys and GS1 Application Identifier concepts. It provides the essential foundation for all applications of the GS1 System.
