This site functions best as a transfer and storage site for small components and as an adjunct quayside (through Island Sands) for the neighboring manufacturing sites in the Port of New Bedford. Innovation-based Solutions: Use of inter-site transport systems such as a SPMTs and barge system to move components around to other sites that are better suited for actual manufacturing; and Conduct small-footprint manufacturing and conduct storage at the site. 154
