W406 - Introducing RF Technology to the Warehouse Pre-requisites: None This session will discuss the benefits of using Radio Frequency units in the warehouse. We begin with getting the product in the door accurately, all the way through shipping it error-free. We will review how to get started and the software applications. Let s make your warehouse an asset! Carole Stearns Development Engineering Manager Wednesday, 1:15 p.m. 2 Session Objectives Discuss radio frequency processing benefits Review software processes How to get started with RF technology

Radio Frequency Processing Features and Benefits 3 FEATURES Track products Direct transactions Portable BENEFITS Barcodes increased accuracy Real time processing Efficiencies 4 Radio Frequency Processing Can we use RF processing to be more accurate? Can we use RF to be more efficient? If we can be more accurate and efficient, can I provide better service at a lower cost?

5 Return on Investment Opportunity Customer successes Eliminated overtime Sales increased by 13% while warehouse payroll went down 7% Warehouse payroll was reduced for the past 3 years Reduced warehouse personnel by 25-30% Cycle counting eliminates physical inventory Increased average picks per hour Higher fill rates and shipping accuracy 6 Radio Frequency Processing Fully integrated Audits Tracking Hip printers for immediate label generation

7 Inventory Control Three levels of inventory control defined at the branch level Warehouse four walls on-hand 8 Warehouse 4 walls on-hand

9 Inventory Control Three levels of inventory control defined at the branch level Warehouse four walls on-hand Bin level tracking 10 Warehouse Bin level tracking

11 Inventory Control Three levels of inventory control defined at the branch level Warehouse four walls on-hand Bin level tracking Single product can reside in multiple bin locations Single bin can have multiple products Fixed primary location and/or completely random 12 Inventory Control Three levels of inventory control defined at the branch level Warehouse four walls on-hand Bin level tracking RF Processing Bin Recommendation and Committing

13 Warehouse Bin level tracking 14 Radio Frequency Processing - Receiving RF receiving Worksheet environment Multiple receiving personnel License plate/seal number RF Branch transfer receiving Terminal receiving Generate barcode labels

15 Radio Frequency Processing Put Away Directed put away methods Real time update to the destination bin Options include filling the primary bin and consolidating overstock locations User determined put away 16 Radio Frequency Processing Order Pick Completely paperless Directed picking based on business rules Picker routed through warehouse in efficient pick path Pick single order/multiple orders Any bin errors will update cycle counting Picker statistics are recorded

17 Radio Frequency Processing Packing Box contents tracking Defined by customer Spot checking by manager Activate for problem customers Terminal packing can be optional Packer statistics are recorded 18 Radio Frequency Processing Packing

19 Radio Frequency Processing Packing 20 Radio Frequency Processing Shipping Manifest integration Parcel Shipping System by Software Coop UPS Worldship Develop interface to existing system

Radio Frequency Processing - Cycle Counting 21 Cycle counting level 1 RF or paper Blind count Counts that exceed tolerance move to level 2 Warehouse/zone defined count frequency Cycle counting level 2 Products that exceed tolerance Complete product check 6 user defined criteria for spot checks Emergency cycle counts Radio Frequency Processing Bin Replenish 22 Primary and retail bins Replenishment is generated when low level threshold is reached Emergency bin replenishments can be generated for pending orders
