3 AUTOMOTIVE PARTS AND SUPPLY KC Auto Body Supplies, Chicago KC Auto Body Supplies in Chicago has been struggling with their inventory management for many years. The company is a PBE (Paint Body Equipment) distributor and supplier and operates a fleet of supply trucks. Every week up to 60 hours were spent on manually entering all of the supply, sales and inventory data into QuickBooks. The problem was exacerbated by the fact that there was no warehouse. Each truck was directly replenished from vendors. Invoice tracking was a significant issue. Four years ago KC implemented HandiFox Sales solution, which has allowed the company to cut down on manual data entry time, gain the edge on the competition, and helped the company to grow its sales by 20% per year. "The whole system is almost self sufficient. Now I just validate if the money is in the bank. TECOM handheld computers are used to input orders, create and print invoices, create and receive POs, manage the truck inventory, provide reports, and other functions. Transfers between trucks are managed by the system. Mobile computers synchronize with the headquarters central database using wireless Internet service. A network link to QuickBooks provides financial reporting. WHOLESALE / DISTRIBUTION Xtreme Solutions, Bellmawr, NJ Xtreme Solutions has been using TECOM software since January Xtreme provides cleaning and finishing products to dealers and detailers in the Philadelphia/South Jersey area. They have multiple vehicles, taking orders, and delivering directly from the trucks. Drivers use the system to create invoices, capture signatures, and print copies for the customers. The trucks are replenished weekly using sales reports generated by TECOM software. Xtreme buys chemicals in bulk quantity and creates their own branded products. In order to accurately track the cost of goods sold for each item, TECOM developed reports which allocate the ingredient cost to each product based on the amount used and the most recent price paid. "HandiFox allowed us to fill in the information gap with mobile inventory system. We were able to eliminate a whole position that focused almost exclusively on the data entry. As a result we cut down costs and were finally able to focus on growing the business," said Steve Israel, the owner of the business.

4 CONSUMER GOODS Seven Dollar Beauty Supplies, Dallas, TX Seven Dollar is a large wholesale distributor of beauty supplies in the Dallas region. They work with a network of sub-tier distributors who send orders directly to the Seven Dollar warehouse. In the past, these orders were called in or faxed, but delivery errors were causing constant problems. To improve this situation, they provided 50 TECOM handheld computers to their distributor network. These are currently used in stock rooms to scan barcodes for items needing replenishment and create orders in the handheld computers. Orders are sent over the Internet to the Seven Dollar warehouse. In addition, orders can come in through a web ordering site which is connected to the Seven Dollar inventory database. FOOD AND BEVERAGE C.V. Low C.V. Low is a frozen foods supply company based in Malaysia. The company badly needed to track the frozen food items it was delivering to a variety of locations and reconcile the data with their QuickBooks as item quantities were quite high and it was very difficult to manage all of the data with pen and paper. HandiFox solution was implemented and has allowed the company, to gain a leg-up on the competition in the area. The distribution chain became much more efficient and transparent. The clients were satisfied with accurate and timely deliveries and the management was able to get a better understanding of how to improve the sales process. The markets they serve include Automotive, Aerospace, Electronics, Medical as well as the Home Hobbyist. «HandiFox has enabled us to expand our business by allowing us to consign inventory to customers while letting them create their own invoices for the products that they scan and withdraw. We receive the invoices automatically and HandiFox inputs them into our QuickBooks and updates our inventories for both our in house and customers location. It tells us what stocks to re-order and when to replenish the offsite inventory. It has allowed us to increase sales dramatically without adding any additional people», said Larry Hodson.
