4 BusinESS OverviEW ShinWoo EnginEEring Co., Ltd Mist Eliminator ShinWoo EnginEEring Provides optimal solution to its customers through competitive price quality and timely delivery Wire Mesh DEMister VanE type Mist EliMinator Wire mesh demister is made by knitting wire, metal or plastic, into tightly packed layers which are then crimped and stacked to achieve the require pad thickness. Vane or chevron type mist eliminators use relatively closely spaced blades arranged to provide sinusoidal or zig-zag gas flow paths. Wire mesh demister is an assembly of knitted mesh supported on, and held down by high open area grids. It is made to any size and shape. When a vapor stream carrying entrained liquid droplets passes through a demister pad, the vapor moves freely through the knitted mesh, but the inertia of the droplets causes them to contact the wire surfaces, coalesce, and ultimately drain as large droplets. The changes in gas flow direction combined with the inertia of the entrained liquid droplets, cause impingement of the droplets onto the plate surface, followed by coalescence and drainage of the liquid to the liquid collection section of the separators. They are suitable for dirty or fouling service as they are less likely to Plug due to their relatively large flow passages. These mist eliminator collect essentially 100% for particles greater than 8 to 40 microns in diameter, depending on design parameters. The way it works 1. Mist laden gas enters the vessel below the mesh pad. 2. The gas follows a tortuous path through the mesh media. 3. The liquid particulates are intercepted. 4. These small particles coalesce and fall back as large drops. They also utilize the least vertical space. They are made of rectangular flat profiles that are dimensioned according to their corresponding mechanical stress. The support gratings are available in various materials such as plastic, FRP and metals. Sometimes support beams are required for structural reasons depending on the material and size of the support grates. The support grating allows free and uniform passage of the liquid and vapor so the packing capacity is not limited.
