1 NORTH AMERICA SHIPPING & ROUTING INSTRUCTIONS GENERAL 1. Charming Shoppes purchase orders have two shipping-related date fields that define the ship window. These are the Do Not Ship Before date and the Cancel Date'. The dates set forth on your authorized purchase order are final. Any alteration of dates must be approved and acknowledged through a revised purchase order. 2. The Do Not Ship Before date on the purchase order indicates the earliest date that merchandise can be received by Charming Shoppes Distribution Centers, third party facilities or its authorized consolidators. The Cancel Date on the purchase order indicates the latest date that merchandise will be received by Charming Shoppes Distribution Centers, third party facilities or its authorized consolidators. Attempts to deliver merchandise shipments outside of the shipping window will result in a vendor charge back or the refusal of shipment at the vendor s expense. 3. Transit days from pages 3 & 4 are to be used for determining the ship date and are based on carrier s standard service. 4. It is the policy of Charming Shoppes Inc. that all domestic inbound merchandise ship: a. Freight COLLECT, for which you will be charged back i. (except when shipping small package; freight terms are prepaid) b. Only through consolidators or direct to Distribution Center by carriers approved by Charming Shoppes 5. Freight Chargeback are calculated to approximate the freight costs from the US Ship Point to the Charming Shoppes Distribution Center and will normally offset the carrier charges incurred. All domestic Purchase Orders will involve a freight chargeback using the freight amounts on pages 3 & 4 6. ASN entry must be made on all purchase orders shipping into Consolidator or Distribution Center a. THROUGH CONSOLIDATOR - ASN entry within the shipping window and no later than 48 hours prior to cancel date b. DIRECT TO DISTRIBUTION CENTER- ASN entry within the shipping window and no later than 72 hours prior to cancel date. 7. Charming Shoppes approved carriers moving merchandise from outside of the NY & Los Angeles transportation zones will make a required delivery appointment into the Charming Shoppes Distribution Center no less than 48 hours prior to delivery for less than truck load shipments (LTL) and 24 hours prior to delivery for truck load (TL) shipments. 8. Delivery to Charming Shoppes Distribution centers, third party facilities or its authorized consolidators does not constitute acceptance of merchandise and Charming Shoppes reserves the right to refuse any merchandise which has been received by the Distribution centers, third party facilities or its authorized consolidators but which does not conform to Domestic Transportation 1

2 the purchase order, fails quality inspection or which was outside the shipping window when delivered. DETERMINE ROUTING 1. Determine Mode based on weight of shipment a. >151 lbs = small package (parcel) b ,999 lbs = less than truck load c. 10,000 lbs or more = full truck load 2. Determine if routed via consolidation or direct to Distribution Center based on US Shipping Point a. Los Angles CA commercial zone ships through Performance Team b. NY metro commercial zone ships through Summit Transportation c. All other US Ship Points ship direct to Distribution Center 3. Determine transit days, carrier selection & freight chargeback a. Refer to the charts on page 3 & 4: b. Refer to the ship to on the purchase order to determine which chart to use (Greencastle or Whitemarsh) 4. Determine correct shipping window by backing up the Do Not Ship Before and Cancel Dates with the transit days shown for the correct shipping point state. This will ensure that the delivery is received at the Distribution Center within the allotted window on the purchase order. Domestic Transportation 2

5 WHEN SHIPPING THROUGH CONSOLIDATOR 1. Vendors shipping from within the consolidation regions must use the consolidators listed in the charts on pages 3 & 4: 2. Consolidator contact information listed below: 3. All consolidation shipment pick ups must be scheduled with an ASN entry within the ship window and at least 48 hours in advance of the cancel date. 4. For shipments over 8,000 lbs and 10 pallet positions logistics@charming.com for routing instructions at least 72 hours prior to cancel date. WHEN SHIPPING DIRECT TO DISTRIBUTION CENTER or MKM DISTRIBUTION 1. Vendors shipping outside of the consolidation regions must use the approved carriers listed in the charts on pages 3 & Carrier contact information listed below: 3. Truck load carriers require 72 hour advanced notice when scheduling a pick up 4. Shipments 150lbs or less ship prepaid via UPS or Fed Ex 5. ASN entry must be made within the ship window and at least 72 hours in advance of cancel date. **Please refer to the Summit/Performance Team Website and Contact Manual in Chapter 13 for further instructions on ASN entry** 6. The Distribution Center requires an appointment no less than 48 hours prior to delivery. Domestic Transportation 5

MKM Distribution requires an appointment no less than 24 hours prior to delivery **Please reference to the Vendor Compliance Telephone Directory in Chapter 13 for appointment contact information to White Marsh, Greencastle, and MKM Distribution Centers** Transportation questions: to Bill of Lading Requirements A separate bill of lading is required for the Distribution Center per trailer load or per shipment. The bill of lading for each purchase order must include Shipper s Name and Address Consignee s Name and Address Carrier Name Freight Terms (collect/prepaid/third party) Purchase Order Number Department Number Style Number Total Weight Ship Mode Appointment Number or Pick up Confirmation Number Total Number of Units by Purchase Order/Style/Size/Color The following message should appear on your bill of lading: Carrier cancel date is, Must be delivered by cancel Date.
