The drum lagging groove should not be used to guide the belt. The actual tracking and guiding of the belt should be made using a conveyor slide bed or roller bed with built in tracking grooves. 14 ElectromagnetIC r akes Electromagnetic rakes The rated brake torque is strongly influenced by the operating conditions within the drum motor (operation in oil at high temperatures) and the ambient temperature. To calculate the holding torque limit on the drum shell, you need Holds a load according to the stated belt pull. For safety reasons, the calculated brake torque has to be at least 25% higher than the needed load torque.
