ABB /BU Robot Product 2/8 Release Information Release Name The release name is Bending 5.15 The release contains following products: Installation package of Bending 5.15 Installation package of BendWare 5.15 Release Information The information should be considered as last minutes information and most up-to-date. Release version number: Release Ordering number Ordering number for the Bending CD is 3HAC

ABB /BU Robot Product 3/8 General Improvements in Bending 1. User interface for Bending browser is changed. The user interface is following the usability measures of the Robot studio browser. Behavior: Left Mouse Click : Select the tree Node and show selected state with font style Bold. Right mouse Click : Select the tree node and Show context menu if available. Mouse Hover : Highlight the tree node and show tooltip if available. a. The new browser tree in layout mode. b. Bend line icon and Bend operation reachability status icon.

ABB /BU Robot Product 4/8 c. Programming sequence icons changed. Windows 7 icon style adapted. 2. Switching between Programming and Bending tab User is now allowed to change the bend operations/properties without deleting the entire programming sequence. When user edit the program while switching from programming to Bending tab, the complete sequence is not deleted instead, it will only regenerate the sequence depending on the modifications made, keeping the non-affecting nodes valid. 3. Enable user to select Vacuum channels while placing the part in Tilter User can define which vacuum channels to be activated while the part is being positioned on the Tilter. Selecting the option Place on Tilter for target will enable the UI for setting the vacuum channel. The channel information is then become available in the RAPID file.

ABB /BU Robot Product 5/8 4. Palletizing a. Default positioning for Group definition. While defining palletizing groups, default positioning is set at the centre of 9 boxes. b. Palletizing Preview Pressing preview in palletizing will clear the old graphics. c. Group distance limit increased. Group distance limit has been increased to 1000 mm from 100 mm to accommodate palletizing of complex part shapes. d. Toggle button to visualize palletizing Group and All parts User can visualize all the parts and palletizing Groups in the Unload Order. e. Finish Button added in the palletizing Unload order. 5. Non editable first target in the sequence User cannot edit the first target in the sequence, since it will invalidate the previous state. The Move Target, Move Robot and Configuration GUI is disabled. However user can still see the position and configuration of the target. 6. Rapid Generation A message box is displayed to the user Rapid generated successfully if Rapid generated successfully and if rapid generation fails Rapid generation failed message is displayed to the user along with the error message in the output window. Improvements in BendWare 1. Programming Multiple stack User can program multiple numbers of stacks on the picking device. The maximum number of stacks that can be programmed is limited to 10. The robot goes to the picking device and search for a piece on the first stack. Robot will attempt to search for a piece on the same stack thrice before moving to next stack. After three unsuccessful attempts searching for the piece, robot will move to the next programmed stack position and continue to search for the piece there. 2. Mismatch of Acceleration and Height of picking data While doing Setup Station user is asked to specify the height of the picking and Robot acceleration. Earlier these two values used to mix up. When user specifies the acceleration or acceleration ramp value, the height of picking was getting changed. Now this issue is resolved and behaves appropriately for the above scenario. 3. Bendware Manual Update The references to routines like OM_xxxx, which are not a part of the current system, are removed.

ABB /BU Robot Product 6/8 Fixed bugs 1. Pallet entry value for 7 th axis from TRE does not take effect. By defining values in for the pallet entry for 7 th axis user is now able to set the position of robot on the pallet while starting the palletizing sequence. 2. Unit inconsistency for 7th axis position slider. Unit for 7 th axis positioning slider in Programming and Bending tab is set to mm. 3. BPP hangs while moving the robot by the External axis Slider with Lock TCP selected. Editing the targets by moving the external axis, Robot now stays between the maximum and minimum reachable limits. 4. Programming sequence Preview not working while using external / 7th Axis systems. This issue has been fixed, caused by the inner exception. Now system is able to show preview while working with external/ 7 th Axis System 5. Localization issue. On some operating systems, RAPID file generated by Bending contains Decimal comma instead of decimal point. The issue has been resolved and it supports internationalization for all Operating system environments. 6. Check reachability does not show correct state when no tracking option is selected. If the initial target position is reachable by the robot and when no Tracking is selected, then Check Reachability shows the status green. 7. For PPRegripping press remains open while overturning and re-gripping. For the programming sequence PPRegripping while doing the preview, the press remains in pinching position for targets First overturn, Second overturn, Third overturn, Approach to Re-grip and Re-grip. 8. Overturn Type PPRegripping shows product on tilter. Whenever the Overturn type PPRegripping is selected then Product position remains in the press over the tool stations. 9. RAPID: ppalletpos target Precision. The position and quaternion value precision has been modified to 8 decimal places instead of 3 decimal places. 10. ToolX, ProductX Labels removed. The redundant targets and the ToolX, ProductX labels are removed. 11. Additional devices or CAD models in Gripper and Tooling tab are hidden now.

ABB /BU Robot Product 7/8 12. Align group on pallet. In palletizing Group Definition, by doing Align group on pallet, the position and orientation user interface will get updated with the values for the first piece. 13. In Palletizing parameters while doing Fill Volume update message comes over and over. When the volume needs to be updated for the palletizing parts, User confirmation message will pop up only once. 14. Full Screen check box in Simulation Preview. Now full screen check box is reflecting correct state. Known issues 1. Warning Messages in RobotStudio Output log When two or more versions of the Bending are installed, warning messages appear in the Output window when RobotStudio is activated. The warning messages inform that duplicate files are installed. The message can be ignored since the files are installed in separate folders and will not cause any mismatch. The function of the s will not be affected. Please use Bending 5.15 option from the Add in Tab for smooth functioning of Bending with RobotStudio If BPP is closed without saving and opened again, the data may be inconsistent and BPP may work incorrectly. When such case happens, you can close RobotStudio without saving the station and open the station again. 3. The modification to a BPP station in RobotStudio basic environment may cause data inconsistency. It is recommended to avoid doing any operations in RobotStudio basic environment. 4. If user generates targets using TRE and interpolate the targets for Picking station, simulation will not show the part attached to the robot.
