The new, smaller footprint of the Monarch PMC Production Machining Center solves this problem. Vertical Table Versatility The Monarch PMC features an infeeding column for they-axis, and a vertical axis table that creates a "hole" where the compound table is normally located on conventional designs. This wider throat opening provides the freedom to mount large parts to the vertical face, or a horizontal table for traditional VMC applications. For multiple-sided work, all you need to do is add a 4th axis or a full 4th-axis Rotary Trunnion System (RTS). For single set-up 5-face machining, just add a full 4th and 5th rotary system.
