1 DURBAN CONTAINER TERMINAL PIER 1/PIER2 Document Title: Annexure A SCOPE OF WORK Project Title: Supply and Fitment of Glass for Transnet for the Port of Durban Container Terminal Pier 1 and 2 for a period of Two (2) years REVISION 02 : For Contract

2 SCOPE OF WORKS 1.1 General Description of the Works The work consists of the remove, supply and installation of glasses on all Haulers, RTGs, Straddles and forklifts at the Durban Container Terminal, Pier 1 and Pier 2. This contract will be for a duration period of 24 (twenty-four) months. 1.2 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS a) The warranty period for all glasses must be a period of 6 months, unless the glass is damaged due to misuse of the equipment by the operator or if the equipment is involved in an accident. In such cases it is the responsibility of the awarded supplier to provide proof of such damages. b) All glasses supplied must be the same quality standard as the OEM glass that is to be replaced; this is to include the toughened grade, strength, properties, thickness and curing process. c) Any damaged glass due to bad workmanship, bad fitment or incorrect glass fitment will at the service providers own cost. In a case where an employee is injured due to bad quality or incorrect glass fitment, the supplier will be held responsible for damages to personnel or property. d) Glasses fitted must be in accordance with the SABS applicable safety regulations and certifications for use within mobile equipment. e) All glasses and materials supplied must be new. Reconditioned components will not be accepted. f) Companies must have their own premises and keep a minimum stock level (refer to technical evaluation). g) Supplier to quote on all items listed from the site meeting and must be in accordance with TPT and OEM specifications. Failure to do so will result in your tender being disqualified. h) The company must have at least one (1) delivery/mobile vehicle to attend to breakdowns onsite to aid in onsite glass cutting, fitment, etc.

3 i) Company to attend to glass related breakdowns within 4 hours after receiving official TPT purchase order. j) Maximum allowable time for the fitment of glasses on the following equipment must not be greater than the below mentioned time periods. This includes the drying time of the glass. Haulers 24 hour hours RTG cranes 48 hours Straddle Carriers 48 hours Forklifts 24 hours k) It is the responsibility of the supplier to gather any missing information that is not provided in the appendix at the site meeting. l) Quoted prices must be fixed for the duration of the contract. m) Monthly reports must be complied by the company Content of the report to be established once the company is awarded Other requirements a) Supplier is required to attend to breakdowns within 4 hours from receiving the official purchase order b) Awarded supplier is required to have their own breakdown vehicle (call-out) with a 24 hour back-up team attending to breakdown c) Quoted prices must be held for a period of 24 months d) The awarded suppler is to provide a minimum warranty period of 6 months on all glasses. e) All glasses must in with accordance to the OEM specification and quality. NB: Any deviation from the scope needs to be authorised before the work is performed.

4 Technical Criteria Description 1. List of companies that bidder has supplied with commodity in the last two years (Provide signed reference letters stating history of workmanship) Scores 1.1 List of 3 Reference letters = 20 points 1.2 List of 2 Reference letters = 10 points 1.3 List of 1 Reference letter = 5 points 1.4 No Reference letters = 0 points 2. Commitment to keep minimum stock as per TPT s requirements (Provide a signed company letter committing to keep stock ) 2.1 Commitment to keep stock of all items = 20 points 2.2 Commitment to keep 50% stock of all items = 10 points 2.3 No commitment to keep stock = 0 points 3.1 Proof of 4 hours = 20 points 3. Proof of letter confirming lead time of 4 hours after receiving the official purchase order. 4. Warranty of greater than 6 months (Signed Company Letter stipulating Warranty period) 5. Company delivery vehicle (Provide a valid certified copy of a logbook) 3.2 Within 8 hours = 10 Points 3.2 > 8 hours = 0 points 4.1 Warranty greater than 6 months = 20 points 4.2 Warranty less than 6 months = 0 points 5.1 Copy of Logbook submitted = 20 points 5.2 No proof submitted= 0 points NB: The minimum allowable threshold of 70 points must be met or exceeded in order to qualify for the next phase.

5 1 SITE INFORMATION Site Access The site is at the Container Terminal in the Port of Durban, Pier 1 and Pier 2. Access to the Port of Durban will be subject to the TPT security requirements and regulations. A safety site induction will be compulsory for suppliers that are entering the terminal for the first time. Supplier using their own vehicles to enter the terminal should have PPE, a safety file and provide their own revolving light for their vehicles.
