1 SKIP Event Space Starrett-Lehigh Building, 601 West 26 th Street Organizational Overview SKIP (Sick Kids [Need] Involved People) helps New York's sickest children. SKIP acts as a free medical concierge, connecting children with the services and equipment they need to heal and live at home rather than in hospitals or institutions. Established in 1983, SKIP is the only 501 (c)(3) nonprofit of its kind. Over 800,000 children in New York suffer from autism, developmental disabilities, birth defects or disabling accidents. SKIP transforms the lives of the 5,000 medically fragile children it helps each year. And, on average, SKIP saves over $50 million in public expense annually. For its outstanding service to the New York community, SKIP has received numerous awards. For more information, visit SKIP receives funding from private foundations, corporations and individuals. For the service coordination SKIP provides, the organization also generates reimbursement fees from various government programs. In order to enhance its current programming, to expand its reach and to automate its processes, SKIP is renting its event space to produce revenue. SKIP s office in the historic Starrett-Lehigh Building in Chelsea (11 th Avenue at 26 th Street) offers a premium venue for retreats, workshops, seminars and celebrations with Hudson River views stretching from the George Washington Bridge to the Verrazano Bridge. By hosting an event at SKIP, you help advance the organization s mission to help New York s most medically vulnerable children. We thank you. The Space Event space: Approximately 42 feet wide by 56 feet long comprising an area of about 2,650 square feet of reception space. 13-foot high ceiling. Maximum Occupancy: 250 people. Windows along the West 26 th Street and the West Side Highway; windows (south and west) have adjustable shades. Flexible space and furniture that can be configured as needed. Adjustable lighting. Kitchen and storage space for caterer (see below). Two small adjacent rooms are available for private discussions or temporary storage space. Wheelchair accessible building. WIFI in the Event Space (SKIPGUEST); SKIP can provide WIFI at the front desk near the office entrance if needed. Available for rent days and evenings, seven days a week. 5 Page 5 of 8 Kitchen 430 square feet. Extensive counter space including 2 sinks with hot/cold water dispensers. Electric oven (1); if second oven needed, the building electrician is required for hook-up. Commercial sized refrigerator with about 24 cubic feet of storage, and three standard refrigerators each with about cubic feet of cold storage, as well as one mini-fridge. Microwave ovens (5). Two dishwashers. Bathrooms Are adjacent to the Event Space and are wheelchair accessible. The men s room has 6 stalls and 4 urinals; the women s room has 8 stalls as well as a small changing room. Load-in/Load-out Loading dock and freight elevator operate as a unit and are open Monday- Friday from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 7:00 am-2:00 pm; note that they start closing 15 minutes before the actual closing time. Loading dock and freight elevator are not available on Sundays. Presentation Supports Projection screen, ceiling mounted (approximate dimensions: 13 feet wide x 7 feet high) Speakers Five ceiling mounted speakers of one amp. Five black easels. Clear lucite lectern about 40 tall. Professional video recording/editing of event pricing on request. Security List of attendees must be provided to SKIP at least 24 hours in advance a copy of which will be provided to Building Security. 24-hour Building. Depending on how much equipment is brought in, advance notice must be given to the building. Heavy equipment must be moved via loading dock and freight elevator. Event Space Restrictions No smoking. Only LED candles allowed. No alcohol can be served without appropriate license and insurance. Caterers, Event Planners, AV Services and Florists SKIP has a preferred vendor list that comprises professionals of the highest caliber who are familiar with the building and whose insurance certificates and licenses are on file with SKIP. There is an option to use other vendors, but note that a surcharge may be applicable. Caterers must be licensed if liquor will be served.

6 Page 6 of 8 Items for Rent Sound & Technology Microphone Three handheld and two lapel mic s (only four mic s can run at the same time as SKIP only has four receivers). If additional microphones are needed they can be rented. The unit supports the connection of a laptop for presentations and for audio music. Rental fee depends on technology set-up. Stage Stage equipped with a wheelchair ramp. Stage includes four modular sections (4 x8 each) and one section (4 x6 ). Rental fee varies depending on how many sections are used, each section is $50.
