Safe Loading of Vehicles SAFE LOADING But our focus to day will of course be the road transport sector. AND CARGO SECURING

Safe Loading of Vehicles Our mission: Attending training on safe load in order to achieve: Awareness, Knowledge Action competence

Safe Loading of Vehicles We attend to achieve our mission through the following curriculum plans: - Safe load - specific training (single courses) 3 days - As part of the initial qualification training (Directive 2003/59/EC) - As part of the periodic training (Directive (2003/59/EC) 1-2 days - As an integrated part of different training courses different duration - Training inside the apprenticeship scheme (skilled worker) -1 week

Safe Loading of Vehicles All courses are adapted to take into consideration: The type of operation The type of vehicle The type of load

Safe Loading of Vehicles The goal to fulfill: The driver will, after implemented training, be able to: 1) Carry out safe load procedures in order to meet all legal standards and to fullfill all demands related to security standard (environmental and personal security). 2) Handle the load on the basis of a knowlegde to the forces involved, regarding the vehicle, the load, the road profile, how to choose gear, how to calculate loaddimensions, how to place the goods, stability, center of gravity, axle load etc. 3) Performe an excellent techical handling of safe load equipment and gear: lashings and connected devices. And further more making the periodical necessary control of the gear.

Safe Loading of Vehicles The goal to fulfill: The main attitude to this issue will be: A training which reflects the need for the driver. - What has to be done must be manageable, simple and economic - Direct access to simple guidelines and tools which enable the driver to fulfill his tasks - A throughout awareness of security, risk management and knowledge of materials

Safe Loading of Vehicles The overall content of the training will be: Loading of the vehicle Planning the loading Calculation of the load compartment size Calculating the load Calculating the center of gravity location Calculation of axle load Recognizing the types of goods Handling the equipment Securing and protecting the cargo Lashings and security techniques Types of security equipment

Driver training Content of the training TUR are following the recognized standards: Standard EN :2010 Coherent to this standard TUR are delivering the following training materials: Mini-guide (together with TYA-sweden) Interactive (pc-based) programs (with Semitic speech) Books

Driver training The e-learning training With an enrollment code you will have direct online access to e-learning course: Safe Load You will learn about load securing, lashing and stowage of cargo on vehicles that shows you the methods and options available to ensure stow and tie down cargo securely, so it does not shift out or fall of transport. The course examines the four physical forces acting on a cargo during transport: -acceleration, - braking, - centrifugal force and gravity. 7 modules: 1. Introduction 2. Second Physical forces 3. Third Vehicle types 4. Goods Types 5. Lashing 6. Load securing 7. Lashing and stowage of containers

Driver training The practical training The essential core of the training will always be: HANDS ON!!!!!

Safe load simulators

Driver training What is the educational effect on training inside the safe load area? In DK we have seen a decline on 22% within the first half year of 2012 (related to the year of 2011)
