17 Extrusion Coating- Lamination In the manufacturing of Flexible Packaging and Drinks Packaging an accurate control of moisture content of the base materials, polymer laminate thickness and coated layers on metallized surfaces is required to have a quality product. We have developed a range of sensor technologies that allow to have a complete control over the manufacturing process of laminated and extrusion coated products. 18 Film - Foils The process of converting films and foils use very many types of coating combination that usually are the added value of the final product. For this reason is very important an on-line control of the coat weight. 24 Cast Film In cast film production the accuracy of the measurement and a stable, reliable control process of the extrusion are important factors. Mesys can provide the most accurate system on the market with the USM 200 technology that can achieve a precision of measurement better than any other technology on the market. 28 Rubber Calendering Mesys offers a complete thickness measurement solution of top and bottom foils on calender and of the total thickness after calender (please see layout here below) Single side frame with Triangulation laser Double sided scanning frame for total thickness measurement (laser or ultrasonic sensors) Two or three one spot measurement with laser We use last generation triangulation laser technology that we have adapted to this specific application and its harsh environment. Our laser system has a very good accuracy (+/- 10 micron) and give a real thickness measurement using the calender roller as reference. We can offer single point measurement or in scanning mode. For what regards post-calender measurement we also suggest our laser technology or our USM technology for total weight. Calender systems are available with effective controls, including: 3-zone control (dual or single gap, cross-axis or roll bending)

29 After Extrusion or Coating Calendering There are applications in which it is necessary to have a measurement of product thickness before and after calendering Multi-scanner systems can be used for in-line processes where a there is an extrusion or a coating process before calendering. Through a differential thickness or weight measurement system we can give a very accurate solution. Snsors: MM2-LSS2-DAC

30 Vinyl Calendering For vinyl calender application we offer a complete measurement and control system: We use our last generation of laser triangulation sensor for calender measurement and our USM weight system for total measurement after calender. Where it is necessary to have e thickness measurement also of total product we use our laser technology which is a no-contact measurement that gives a very accurate profile of production. Mesys Systems are available with a full control options, including left/right or tilt control, roll speed control to affect average weight, and roll bending and cross-axis controls.
