1 EDIRite the BAPLIE message general tool Over the past 20 years the BAPLIE messages has become one of the most used electronic messages in the world. The BAPLIE message is the backbone in electronic container operation. It effectively makes the information about containers onboard a vessel available for the different parties. With EDIRite you can: - View and Edit any BAPLIE message - Data in Tabular and Graphical representation - Print BAYPLAN:s and tabular reports - Translate from one BAPLIE version to another - VGM, Check/Update SOLAS Container Weight Verification Requirements VGM. EDIRite is designed for: - Agents, Operators, Port representatives, etc to: list containers to be discharged', enter data for containers loaded', search for container details', etc. - Stowage Planners, Terminals to translate between different formats BAPLIE 1.5, 2.0, 2.2, translate Container Size type codes, Operator codes', etc. - Anyone who needs to search for container information in electronic BAPLIE bay plans. EDIRite is distributed in three different version: EDIRite - VIEW to view messages. EDIRite - EDIT to view and edit messages. EDIRite REPORTER to view, edit and bayplan presentation and printing. Supported BAPLIE message versions Versions SMDG/1.5, SMDG/2.0 and SMDG/2.2 of EDIFACT/BAPLIE format is supported by the program. 2 EDIRite Edit General information User loads a BAPLIE file. Container data is presented in tabular form. Sorting on any column. (in menu: Options->Sorting by Click on Col) Present Source Text ex Full / Empty instead of 5/4 as in BAPLIE. Code translation by user; Ex POL, Present port name in text or the IATA port code LIVERPOOL/GBLPL. User can define the ports in Settings (menu Options). If not defined the IATA code will be presented.

3 Customize columns presented The BAPLIE message include a huge number of different data presented in different columns for a container. Some data may be irrelevant for your needs. With the Arrange/Customize button you can customize columns to be presented. Select columns, set columns order, adjust column labels. Predefined column sets can be selected: Full 1.5, 2.0, 2.2 or Brief, etc. You may also arrange your own column selection. User 1, 2, 3 are for your own definitions. Columns to left are presented. You can move from left to right and up and down.

4 VGM definition in BAPLIE message Maximum possibilities for VGM description The BAPLIE version Users Manual describe some different possibilities to document VGM (gross mass verification). Below table is an extract form the BAPLIE Users Manual. All these possibilities can be created/edited in the EDIRite program. 5 Customized VGM description If your requirements may be to enter: VGM Declared VGM Weighing Method VGM Communication contact (name, tel number) VGM Document id VGM Verification date and time This information can be written in row with Code=DRF. EDIRite can customize the column labels for easier understanding. Done in Settings window (menu Options >Settings ). 6 EDIRite Reporter options Graphical presentation in BAYS as per ISO cell position coding. Configurable Bay positions. Color presentation per selected attribute. Ex Port of Loading, Port of discharge, IMDG, etc. Colors defined by user. Container information in cells per selected attribute. User defined short codes, ex A=Antwerp, NY=New York, Print Bay plan User logo may be included. (Logo = file KSAB.bmp) Select attribute(s) to be printed inside cell. Ex Port of discharge (POL). Print in color or in black and white. Scale to desired size. Uset set number of bays in row and number of columns per page.
