Getting Started With Pro Pack TechNote #103. Rev Pro Pack calculates for you The ideal box size for what you re packing, then selects the closest one from your inventory. If you re out of stock, it will help you find the closest next one. The correct amount of padding and filler according to the fragility of the contents, and the space between the item to be packed and the selected container. The estimated finished weight and dimensions for shipping before you ve done the actual packing. Pro Pack has a Now and Later option. Pack Now: Use Now to pack the item while the customer waits and complete the shipment. (The shipping label prints at the time of the estimate. No estimate retrieval is done for Pack Now shipments.) Pack Later: Use this option to estimate your packing and shipping charges now and complete the customer transaction. Later, after packing the object, you will retrieve the estimate to complete shipment. Now or Later can be defaulted to what your store uses most. Choose Tools > PostalMate Settings > Pro Pack Settings. Questions? Phone: support@pcsynergy.com

Page 2 You can create pre-defined packing kits for commonly packed items, allowing you to set up packing jobs in seconds. There are now five Fragility levels that determine the proper box size and how much additional labor is charged. Both short and long descriptions can be set by you. Hovering your cursor over the description displays the entire verbiage.. The new Complexity choices allow you to automatically increase your revenues for more difficult (and presumably time consuming) packing jobs. As with Fragility, each level can be assigned a pre-designated dollar amount. Use the Setting up Pro Pack TechNote for more detail on how to adjust your settings and set up new kits. Fragility and Complexity There are five levels for fragility and for complexity. Assigning a labor amount to each level allows you more control and flexibility on how much additional labor is charged. Fragility also controls the minimum padding needed for each estimate. The wording for each level and description can be modified to best suit your store operations. You can also assign the default levels for Fragility and Complexity. The defaults will be pre-selected for you when entering the Packing Job Specifications screen.

Page 3 After entering the dimensions of the object you are packing, Pro Pack will estimate the container and fillers needed based on the size of the object and the fragility level selected. Your inventory is checked for sufficient quantities on hand If you use inventory, you will love the feature of checking for the quantity on hand. If you have never set up or used inventory, and want to, please see TechNote titled Inventory Tracking and Receiving. Options Info: This button displays detailed weight and dimensional information about the packing job. Save as Kit: Choose this button if the packing job will be something you commonly put together and want to select quickly in the future. (Kits can also be created in the Pro Pack Setup screen.) Service: Choose this button to change the total amount of labor for the packing job.

Page 4 Special: Using the Special button you will access new options to select and make special boxes. 1. Advanced Find: Allows you to search for an existing container based on the object dimensions and minimum padding. 2. Cut Down: Allows you to select a larger container from inventory and displays the finished dimensions and amount of padding needed based on the fragility level that was selected. Choosing this option will display the proper dimensions for the cut down box with the padding of the box on the rate comparison screen. 3. Combine: Need to use two boxes to make one unique container? Use this option. 4. Build: Need to make a box from scratch? Use the Build option and Pro Pack will generate a printable custom plan for building any size box from a sheet of cardboard, showing you exactly where to cut and fold. Any of the Special Container options can be calculated for double-boxing.

Page 5 Retrieve Pro Pack Estimate (for Later shipments) From the Everyday Tools menu, select Retrieve Pro Pack Estimate. Choose the estimate you wish to retrieve and click OK. Place the completed pack job on the scale or enter the actual weight. Click OK. Set up the ProPack labei in Tools > PostalMate Settings > Label Settings. The label will print at the time of the estimate. When retrieving the estimate, scan the barcode for easy look up! Review and Complete Pro Pack This screen allows you to review the estimated charges and the actual charges. If a different box size was used or you added extra fillers, this can be updated on the Packing Material tab. Here you can make any changes, if any. If the Actual charges are more or less than the Estimate, the difference will be recorded on the Discount line (for accounting purposes.) Click OK to complete the estimate. Your shipping label will now print.

Page 6 Review the Estimate vs. Actual. If there are no changes, click OK and your shipping label will now print. If any changes need to be made to the packing materials (estimate vs what was actually used) make those changes on the Packing Material tab. If you find that Pro Pack is not estimating correctly, refer to TechNote titled Setting Up Pro Pack for detailed information on setup. Each container needs to be set up with inner dimensions, weight, padding and all fillers need to have a weight in order for Pro Pack to properly estimate for you.
