34 Project Zodiac What is Project Zodiac? Around 2 years ago the current provider of our GS1net data pool decided they would not support the GDSN Major Release in If GS1 Australia/NZ wanted this functionality, they would have to build it specifically for us, at a large cost. We have been looking at other data providers, and decided on signing up with 1 World Sync (1WS) who manage the US and German data pools, and our new Webforms system. Zodiac is the project name to change from the current data pool to the new 1WS data pool. 34

42 Timeline 42

43 GDSN Major Release 3 Who is GDSN? Global Data Synchronisation Network Governing body for enabling companies to globally share trusted data. GDSN in conjunction with member organisations (MO s) such as GS1net NZ/Aus and member companies, develop standards that enable the global sharing of trusted data. 44 Why? Business Needs Too slow to change standards - One shoe fits all structure 44

45 How is this Going to Affect Suppliers? GS1 NZ/Aus are currently working through all the changes so that we can work out how these changes will affect you. GS1 and the middleware providers will insulate their supplier users from the majority of the changes. What you can expect is: A few Attributes could change name A few Attributes may appear in a different place on your GUI Next time you change a Product in your GUI you may have to change a attribute/code that is no longer available.
