1 TITLE OXYGEN - EROS MLD OXYGEN MASK INSTALLATION EFFECTIVITY MODEL SERIAL NUMBERS thru NOTE: Airplanes thru that have completed SB Oxygen - EROS Oxygen Mask Installation must complete Revision 3, or later, before this service bulletin is accomplished. NOTE: The EROS MLD is a convertible mask which offers the benefits of a full face mask. The EROS MLD also keeps the features of a half face mask when the goggles are not needed. The convertible feature is made possible with the click-in/click-out goggle locking system, which adds comfort. NOTE: The goggles that are used with the EROS Oxygen Mask will not work with the MLD-20 EROS oxygen mask. REASON Provides an installation for the EROS MLD Oxygen Masks. 2 COMPLIANCE OPTIONAL. This service bulletin can be accomplished at the discretion of the owner. A service bulletin published by Cessna Aircraft Company may be recorded as completed in an aircraft log only when the following requirements are satisfied: 1) The mechanic must complete all of the instructions in the service bulletin, including the intent therein. 2) The mechanic must correctly use and install all applicable parts supplied with the service bulletin kit. Only with written authorization from Cessna Aircraft Company can substitute parts or rebuilt parts be used to replace new parts. 3) The mechanic or airplane owner must use the technical data in the service bulletin only as approved and published. 4) The mechanic or airplane owner must apply the information in the service bulletin only to aircraft serial numbers identified in the Effectivity section of the bulletin. 5) The mechanic or airplane owner must use maintenance practices that are identified as acceptable standard practices in the aviation industry and governmental regulations. No individual or corporate organization other than Cessna Aircraft Company is authorized to make or apply any changes to a Cessna-issued service bulletin, service letter, or flight manual supplement without prior written consent from Cessna Aircraft Company. Cessna Aircraft Company is not responsible for the quality of maintenance performed to comply with this document, unless the maintenance is accomplished at a Cessna-owned Citation Service Center. This information shall be considered an amendment to the Cessna Manufacturer's Maintenance Manual. Prepare the airplane for maintenance. A. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position. B. Disconnect electrical power from the airplane. (1) Disconnect the airplane battery. (2) Disconnect external electrical power. C. Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" writtenonthem. 2. (Airplanes that have EROS oxygen masks installed as a factory option or by service bulletin.) (Refer to Figure 2, Detail A or Detail B.) Install the EROS MLD Oxygen Masks. A. Remove two EROS Oxygen Masks. B. Return the EROS Oxygen Masks to Cessna. Page 3

4 C. Install two EROS MLD Oxygen Masks in the existing MPX105 Stowage Cup. NOTE: The EROS MLD Oxygen Masks can not be stowed with the smoke goggles attached to the mask. The smoke goggles must be stowed in the MLD20 Smoke Goggle Bag Assembly. D. (Airplanes that were equipped with smoke goggles.) Remove the Bag Assembly and Goggles. (1) (Refer to Figure 3, Detail A.) Install the MLD20 Smoke Goggle Bag Assembly where the Bag Assembly was removed. E. (Airplanes that were not equipped with smoke goggles.) (Refer to Figure 3, Detail A.) Install the MLD20 Smoke Goggle Bag Assembly. (1) Measure and identify the location for the F Fabric Fastener. (2) Cut the fabric fastener into two six-inch sections. (3) Install the F Fabric Fastener. (4) Install the MLD20 Smoke Goggle Bag Assembly on the F Fabric Fastener. 3. (Airplanes thru that do not have EROS oxygen masks installed.) Install the EROS MLD Oxygen Masks. A. (Refer to Figure 1, View A-A.) Put the Bracket Assembly into position on the cabinetry as shown while it is still installed in the airplane. Use the top of the inboard seat rail as the marking reference of BL 9.00 and WL (left and right are typical). B. Identify the location of the first hole on the panel as shown, then use the Bracket Assembly as a template to identify the other holes. C. Remove the left and right forward dividers, refreshment center, and/or closet. (Refer to the applicable sections of the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 25.) D. Install the inserts in the forward panel of the cabinetry as follows: NOTE: Installation procedure is typical for the left and the right sides, and for dividers, refreshment centers, and closets. (1) Drill four Number 10 (0.193 inch diameter) pilot holes through the forward surface only at the locations that have been identified. (2) (Refer to Figure 1, View B-B.) Increase the pilot hole to 0.46 inch diameter. (3) Remove the cabinetry panel's core material to create a circular pocket 1.00 inch diameter around the 0.46 inch diameter surface hole. (4) Apply wax to the threads of four NAS Screws and obtain a piece of nonbondable film larger than the Bracket Assembly. (5) Punch holes in the nonbondable film to align with the bracket assembly and assemble four NAS1836C08-14 Inserts in the bracket assembly with the film in between the inserts and the bracket assembly, attach the inserts with the waxed screws. (6) Put the Type 1, Class B Adhesive in all four holes in the cabinetry panel. (Refer to the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Adhesive And Solvent Bonding - Maintenance Practices.) NOTE: The quantity of adhesive in each hole must be sufficient to fully fillthevoidwhenthe insert is installed, but should not overflow onto the cabinetry panel. (7) Put the bracket into position on the panel with the attached inserts in the holes. Clamp, tape or use weights to hold the bracket into position. (8) Remove the attaching screws and the bracket after the adhesive has fully cured. Remove and discard the nonbondable film and clean the adhesive that has overflowed from the holes. Page 4

5 E. Install the forward dividers, refreshment center, and/or closet. (Refer to the applicable sections of the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 25.) F. (Refer to Figure 2, Detail A.) Install the oxygen masks. (1) Install one Bracket Assembly on the dividers or the refreshment center with four NAS Screws and four NAS1149FN816P Washers. (2) Install one Cover Assembly and one MPX105 Stowage Cup to the Bracket Assembly with four MS24694A4 Screws. G. Install one EROS MLD Oxygen Mask in each of the MXP105 Stowage Cup. H. (Refer to Figure 3, Detail A.) Install the MLD20 Smoke Goggle Bag Assembly. (1) Measure and identify the location for the F Fabric Fastener. (2) Install the F Fabric Fastener. (3) Install the MLD20 Smoke Goggle Bag Assembly on the F Fabric Fastener. 4. (Airplanes thru that do not have EROS oxygen masks installed.) (Refer to Figure 2, Detail B.) Install the EROS MLD oxygen masks. A. Remove the left and right forward dividers, refreshment center, and/or closet. (Refer to the applicable sections of the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 25.) B. (Refer to Figure 1, View C-C and D-D.) Use the measurements to find three pre-potted inserts in the cabinetry. C. Drill a inch diameter hole in the center of the pre-potted inserts. D. Install the forward dividers, refreshment center, and/or closet. (Refer to the applicable sections of the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 25.) E. Install the oxygen mask spacers. (1) Install the (left) ( right) Oxygen Mask Spacer with three MS Screws and three NAS1149FN832P Washers. (2) Install the MXP105 Stowage Cup on the oxygen mask spacer with the four MS24694A4 Screws. F. Install one EROS MLD Oxygen Mask in each of the MXP105 Stowage Cup. G. (Refer to Figure 3, Detail A.) Install the MLD20 Smoke Goggle Bag Assembly. (1) Measure and identify the location for the F Fabric Fastener. (2) Cut the fabric fastener into two six-inch sections. (3) Install the F Fabric Fastener. (4) Install the MLD20 Smoke Goggle Bag Assembly on the F Fabric Fastener. 5. Insert the Supplement in the FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual. NOTE: Look at the configuration codes listed in the applicable supplement and/or in Section 1 of the FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual to make sure all changed crew procedures or limitations are complied with. A. (Airplanes thru ) Make sure that Airplane Flight Manual Supplement 25, Revision 4 or later is inserted into the Citation V FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual. Page 5

6 B. (Airplanes thru ) Make sure that Airplane Flight Manual Supplement 12, Revision 1 or later is inserted into the Citation Ultra FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual. NOTE: (Airplanes thru ) There is not an EROS oxygen mask supplement for your airplane. The operation of the EROS oxygen mask is included in the basic Airplane Flight Manual. C. (Airplanes thru that use a Brazilian AFM.) Make sure that Airplane Flight Manual Supplement 7, Revision 1 or later is inserted into the Citation V FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual. 6. Record that this service bulletin has been completed. A. Complete a Maintenance Transaction Report. B. Put a copy of the completed Maintenance Transaction Report in the airplane logbook. C. Send a copy of the completed Maintenance Transaction Report to: CESCOM, PO Box 7706, Wichita, KS MATERIAL INFORMATION The parts included in this service bulletin cover installation for one airplane. NOTE: Airplanes thru and any airplane that has EROS oxygen masks installed the -0 Kit is the only kit that will be required.
