AIR WORTHINESS AUTHORITY Page 2

5 The first step in defining your Blackhawk helicopter is identifying which Air Worthiness Authority you will be operating under. ARMY AIR WORTHINESS AUTHORITY The Blackhawk helicopters provided by FMC Solutions were maintained under the U.S. Army s Airworthiness Authority. Your country or federal authority may accept the transition from the U.S. Army Air Worthiness Authority, or require the aircraft to transition to the FAA Authority prior to delivery. FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION (FAA) A restricted Type Certificate (TC) can be applied for along with Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) for each modification. The certifications are applied for and approved by the FAA individually. Page 3

6 AVAILABLE MODIFICATIONS TO MEET YOUR NEEDS FMC offers a variety of modifications to tailor your Blackhawk for every aspect of your mission. Page 4

7 MILITARY OR COMMERCIAL PAINT APPLICATION The second step in defining your Blackhawk helicopter is identifying whether the helicopter will have a military or commercial application. For military applications, FMC can apply a paint color and design that matches your current military aircraft profile or retain the original paint color. The original aircraft paint, Chemical Agent Resistant Coating (CARC), is a two-component polyurethane paint (MIL-C-46168) that has been used as a finishing coat on military combat equipment since Our design team will create a digital design based on your sketch or construct a digital design with you. Once a digital design is customer approved, it is released for painting. Page 5
