Situation/Task Action Result (Situation/Task) When I graduated from high school in San Diego, Ca, women had 3 career choices: Secretary, School Teacher or nurse I really enjoyed business so I took business courses at Herbert Hoover High School and immediately secured a secretarial position at MLPF&S. But I wanted to be more than just a secretary, I wanted to be a registered sales assistant and obtain my Series 7 license (action) so I researched courses that would educate me on passing the General Securities Representative Exam. I found a correspondence course and signed up and completed the course. I then flew to Los Angeles to take the exam (I was 19 years old). (result) I passed the test and became the first woman in that office to become registered!
