Table of Contents 1. Enabling the extension in Magento. 2. A brief explaination of how the module works. 3. Pricing Groups. 4. Editing a product. 5. Pricing Rules. 6. Automatic Pricing Settings.

1. Enabling the extension in Magento In System > Manage Modules, check Cost Based Pricing and click "Save modules settings" on the top right.

2. A brief explaination of how the module works Important For the extension to function correctly, Сost should be indicated for all products for which you wish to use Cost Based Pricing. Pricing Groups The extension adds a new entity called Pricing Group. It s a formula for forming product prices: Сost + Markup (% or $) = Price e.g. $ % = $150 Once a product is assigned to a Pricing Group, its price becomes the sum of the product cost and the markup specified for the group. A product can be assigned to one Pricing Group at a time. If you do not wish to use Cost Based Pricing for some products, do not assign these products to any Pricing Group. Pricing Rules (optional) Pricing Rules allow you to automatically increase / decrease markup for Pricing Groups when your sales reach a specified mark during a time period. For example, if your total monthly sales have been less than $10.000, you can choose to automatically increase markup by 10 (per cent or dollars, depending on your settings).

3. Pricing Groups Click to add a new Pricing Group. Catalog > Automatic Pricing > Groups

3. Pricing Groups You can use a fixed figure ($50) or percentage (50%) as a markup/increment. Catalog > Automatic Pricing > Groups > General

3. Pricing Groups Here you can assign products to this Pricing Group. When a product is assigned to a group, its price is calculated as the sum of cost and markup. A product can belong to one group at a time. If you tick a product that is already assigned to a group, the previous assignment will be cancelled. E.g. if you create "Group 2" and assign it a product that is already assigned to "Group 1", the product will be re-assigned to "Group 2". Catalog > Automatic Pricing > Groups > Group Products

4. Editing a product If you disable the extension at some point (or make a Pricing Group inactive), the price entered by the admin into the "Price" field will be used instead. Here you can assign the product to a pricing group or disable Cost Based Pricing for the product. Catalog > Products - Edit > Prices

4. Updating inventory attributes Tier prices are calculated based on the cost-based price using the formula: costbased price divided by the price entered by admin and multiplied by tier price entered by admin. Catalog > Products - Edit > Prices

5. Pricing Rules Click to add a new Pricing Rule. Pricing Rules let you automatically increase / decrease the markup based on revenue for a certain period. Catalog > Automatic Pricing > Rules

5. Pricing Rules Indicate the rule's name, pricing groups to which it should apply, rule priority and status. Catalog > Automatic Pricing > Rules > General

5. Pricing Rules Please note that the revenue is calculated for all products, not just the products in your current markup group. Catalog > Automatic Pricing > Rules > Conditions

5. Pricing Rules In the "Actions" tab indicate the action type, amount of markup alteration and whether further rules should be processed after this one. When the condition becomes true, the pricing group(s) markup will be decreased or increased by the amount indicated here. Two examples (one for percent and one for fixed markup): 1. If the original markup is 50 percent of cost and this rule condition becomes true, the markup will grow by 10, to 60 percent. 2. If original markup is 100 (fixed amount) and this rule condition becomes true, the markup will grow by 10 and become 110 (fixed amount). Catalog > Automatic Pricing > Rules > Actions

6. Automatic Pricing Settings System > Configuration > Catalog > Catalog > Automatic Pricing Settings
