2 2 LEO Monaghan Tender for delivery of training, workshops & business clinics for 2018 and Local Enterprise Office within Monaghan County Council is currently in the process of preparing its training & support programme for the next 2 years from A panel of trainers will be set up to deliver the courses, workshops and business clinics. Subject to budgets and satisfactory performance, training and service contracts will be rolled over during the period. Qualified trainers are invited to tender to avail of these opportunities to form a panel for delivery of the proposed courses. Note, more than one delivery agent may be selected to deliver programmes. Applicants should demonstrate their understanding of the SME sector and should show that their training proposals are practically based and aimed specifically at this sector. They should also demonstrate their ability to deal with small business start-ups, developing businesses, business owners, managers etc. The following schedule is only an indication of the courses, their duration and content being considered for the next 2 years. Proposals for other formats and other appropriate workshops/seminars are welcomed. Other additional quotes/tender notifications may be advertised on our website during the year. Please refer to guidelines at the end of this document for important submission information. TN01 Course: Start Your Own Business Duration: 1 evening per week for 6 weeks & 1 follow up 1hr visit. No of participants: 12 (max) Description: The objective of the SYOB programme is to assist participants in assessing the viability of business ideas and in understanding the essential elements required to start up and run their own business. TN02 Course: Introduction to Pricing & Costing Duration: 2 evening plus 1 onsite visit. No of Participants: 12 (max) Description: Participants should be given an overview of the elements, strategies & formulas for costing & pricing their products & services. TN03 Course: Presentation skills Duration: Half day or 2*half days Description: Participants will design and prepare a presentation that gets their message across. Topics may include: Methods of design a presentation, delivery techniques, handle the unexpected, presentation feedback.

3 3 TN04 Course: How to build a powerful Brand identity Duration: 1 day or 2 half days. No of Participants: 12 (max) Description: This programme aims to equip small business owners/managers with an understanding of the importance of branding and how to build a powerful business identify. Topics may include: What is a brand? Identify you business values/message, identify an image, Build a cohesive brand across platforms, Create content for your brand and using/sharing your brand TN05 Course: Investigate Your Business Idea Duration: 1 day or 2* evenings Description: This programme should provide participants with the tools required to take a business idea through various research stages to commercialisation. It may cover: Feasibility study, Consumer & Market research, Branding and IP & Domain name protection TN06 Course: Perfecting Your Sales Pitch Duration: 2 half days. Description: Participants should gain an in-depth understanding of key skills required to perfect their sales pitch and should acquire new selling tools to win new customers and maintain existing ones. TN07 Course: Closing the Sale Duration: 1 day or 2*half days Description: Improve company profits through better personal sales performance with improved sales techniques - examine pre-call planning, selling and evaluation of sales.

4 4 TN08 Course: Facebook START. Duration: Half day/full day Description: This workshop is aimed at business owners/managers who may/may not have taken their business online via Facebook and are interested in exploring the potential of Facebook as a marketing tool for your business. TN9 Course: Facebook Advertising Advanced. Duration: Full day or 2* half days Description: Suggested content: This programme will give an overview of the advanced techniques when using Facebook. Topics may include: types of adverts, adverts manager, custom targeting, location, demographics, interests, behaviours, connections, promoted posts, lookalikes and measuring performance. TN10 Course: LinkedIN Master class. Duration: Half day. Description: This session encourages participants to identify opportunities that are available to them using the LinkedIN platform. TN11 Course: How to make Ecommerce Happen Programme. Duration: Blended programme over a 2-3 month period. Open to innovative format. Description: The programme which may include measuring the performance of website, SEO, content management, conversion optimization and marketing campaigns. TN12 Course: Video Marketing using a Smartphone. Duration: 2*full days. Description: This practical course covers planning your video content, taking and editing your own video content using your existing smartphone and integrating the use of the video into your marketing strategy to raise brand and boost online presence. Course cost to include tripods and editing apps * 12 people.

5 5 TN13 Course: Search Engine Optimisation. Duration: 1 day / 2 half days. Description: This workshop/clinic will give owner/managers an introduction to search engines, on- page optimisation, link building, creating Google AdWord campaign and analytics. TN14 Course: Cyber Security. Duration: Half day No of Participants: 15 Description: Cyber security has become a critical issue for small business. This workshop will provide information on business risks and potential actions to protect their business. TN15 Course: Google s tools for Business. Duration: 1 day/2*half days. No of Participants: 15 Description: Google has an array of tools to help create efficiencies and enhance communication flow within the small business. Modules may include Google Drive, Hangouts, Analytics, Adwords, Calendar, Plus. TN16 Course: Introduction to VAT. Duration: 1 evening No of Participants: 12 Description: A quick guide to VAT for small business owners Topics to include: VAT registration Revenue returns Record keeping TN17 Course: Using Revenue Online Services. Duration: Half day. No of Participants: 12 Description: Participants should be able to submit their tax returns online & ensure tax payments are up to date.

6 6 TN18 Course: Taxation for the Sole Trader Duration: 1 day or 2*evenings Description: An introduction to tax planning for the sole trader. Topics to include: Reporting requirements, The Self- Assessment system, Preliminary Tax, Completion of an income tax return, navigating ROS, personal allowances and rate bands, tax and PRSI liability, calculating vat and preparing returns, important dates. TN19 Course: Taxation for the small company Duration: 1 day or 2*evenings. Description: An introduction to tax planning for the small company. Topics to include: Reporting requirements of limited companies, The Self- Assessment system, Preliminary Tax, the PRSI system, Completion of an income tax return, navigating ROS, personal allowances and rate bands, tax and PRSI liability, calculating vat and preparing returns, important dates. TN20 Course: Financial Management of your Business Duration: 4*evenings or 4*1/2 days. Description: Participants to gain a greater understanding of basic accounting and understanding your business finances. Topics may include: understanding the accounting elements, how to reduce costs, how to increase profits, manage cashflow, debtors, payment terms, accessing finance. TN21 Course: Basic Computerised Accounts for Business Duration: 1-2 day workshop plus 1-2 onsite visits No of Participants: 12 (max) Description: To provide participants with the skills to use Accounts Software in computerising the books and records of their business.

7 7 TN22 Course: Sage50 Improvers for Business Duration: 1-2 day workshop plus 1-2 onsite visits No of Participants: 12 (Max) Description: Aimed at those hoping to increase their working knowledge of Sage50. Topics may include: Sales and purchase ledgers, Bank reconciliations, Maintaining books, Credit control, VAT and reporting TN23 Course: Family Business & Succession Planning Duration: 4/6 half days plus 2/3 onsite visits. No of Participants: 12 (max) Description: This programme will support and help to build sustainable futures for Co. Monaghan family owned businesses. Topics may include: Conflict Resolution, Succession Planning, Leadership Development, Estate Planning, Management and Governance. TN24 Course: Marketing Planning Programme Duration: 2 evenings plus 2 onsite visits. Description: This programme should incorporate the hands-on element of the Marketing Planning process and the output will be a Marketing Plan to be implemented on completion of the programme. TN25 Course: Product & Business Photography Duration: 2*half days + 1 Mentoring visit. Description: This programme will provide an opportunity for participants to take professional like images for presenting your product as part of your marketing strategy. TN26 : Course/Programme Recommendations LEO Monaghan welcomes proposals from potential suppliers under lot 26. Please ensure the format covers the required information as set out in the award criteria.

8 8 Tender Guidelines 2018/2019 General Information Name, address, telephone and of the quoting individual/organization. Name of person within the quoting business dealing with the matter; Name, address, telephone and of any third parties involved in the quotation. Name of person within the third-party business dealing with the matter; Description of role or element of contract to be fulfilled by any third-party. The specific training / mentoring personnel proposed for the various modules in the programme, together with their CV s which should specify demonstrated track record Identification of party who will carry overall responsibility for the contract should be aware that, under the Freedom of Information Acts 1997 & 2003, information provided by them during this procurement process may be liable to be disclosed. Evaluation forms and attendance record sheets must be submitted on completion of programme(s). Where onsite visits are applicable a report will also be required prior to payment. Proposers may tender for more than one of the listed programmes/workshops. Each proposal should outline its content, fee structure and delivery. Monaghan Local Enterprise Office reserves the right to postpone or cancel courses if there is insufficient demand or subject to funding. Insurance The successful Tender will be required to hold an appropriate level of Professional Indemnity Insurance. The courses will be held at various venues throughout County Monaghan. The LEO will be responsible for booking and paying for the venues and trainers are expected to provide all training materials and have their own presentation equipment where required. Tax Clearance Certificate Prior to the award of any contract, the successful Tender will be requested to produce a Tax Clearance Certificate from the Revenue Commissioners. Awards Criteria The quotes/tenders will be selected on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender using the following scoring system: 1) Qualifications, Background and Experience of delivering Training (40%) 2) Proposed Content & Methodology (40%) 3) Price (20%) Please provide a total cost and depict a breakdown of Mentoring (per individual where applicable). Prices are to be shown ex VAT and are to be fixed for a 2 year period from date of submission

9 9 Two copies of the Quote/Tender must be submitted in hard copy format to: Tender for LEO Services, LEO Monaghan, Unit 9 Mtek I Building, Armagh Road, Monaghan. The name and address of each Tenderer should be included on the outside of the Tender. Closing Date: is Fri 1 st December 12 noon. Late applications will not be accepted. N.B. : Only fully completed proposals that have all the necessary supporting documentation enclosed will be considered for inclusion.
