8 PART THREE - A CRASH COURSE IN MARKETING A VERY VERY important piece of marketing success is that you HAVE to do it. Google search is the #1 driver of traffic to content sites, beating social media by more than!! Google ranks each blog post and page on your site based on more than 200 sets of criteria. It s a highly complicated algorithm that decides A) what keywords your page should be indexed under, and B) how high in the search results your page should be indexed - whether on the first page or 10,000dth page. 10 GET MARKETING & SALES MOMENTUM, TODAY The best way to stand out from your competitors and more easily capture sales is by to prove your value, and through the power of. Video will be more important for content marketing than ever before. According to Smart Insights, of all content shared by users on social media last year was video. 11 VIDEO TIPS! By developing the content plan, you are now staring at a year s worth of video and weekly marketing. Record in batches for speed, momentum and confidence. Script out the beginning and end. Record in advance so your VA can work ahead of schedule too. Get rid of chaos and dysfunction. You don t need fancy equipment to get this done. Your background should be simple. For lighting I recommend a ring light, and for sound I recommend a lapel microphone. (Example: Neewer Ring Lighting Kit and Movo Lavalier Lapel Microphone) Get OUT of your head, and into your heart. Before you hit record think of ONE person you love and would want to help. It could be a client you ve made up in your mind, a friend, someone you ve helped in the past. ONLY think of that person as you then go into this video. Make the video as if you re just telling that person what you do. (Do NOT think about the masses, or the importance of video, or how you look, or what you sound like.) The key is SIMPLE. If you re still nervous, consider asking a young neighborhood kid to help. Remember the penalty of waiting. You could make a thousand excuses about how it has to be professional, and it has to be perfect. But perfection is the enemy of great. No one cares what you look like if your content is valuable. 12 THE VALUE OF YOUR TIME In order to look at the value of your time, we have to determine how much money you can make in one hour of work. Examples: 1. Corporate job ($75,000/yr annually + benefits and investments) = $55/hr+ 2. Host a webinar (sell $12,000, spend 40 hours preparing) = $300/hr When you start out the value of your time might realistically be more like $, and as you grow your mindset and really adopt this idea of delegating the time-wasting tasks, there s no limit to the value of your time. (for you to fill out) An estimated value of my time is: $ (ex: $80/hr) 10 hours of my time is worth: $ (ex: $800/hr) If you hire a VA at $35/hr for 10 hours/mo it will cost you: $350/mo 10 hours of my time - $350 I pay a VA: $ PROFIT/mo (ex: $450) vs you DIY, spend cost, $1600 LOSS. 13 The KEY is that you need to FOCUS YOUR TIME on and not. Example: DIY website (60 = $4800 loss) Hire out website $3500 $ $3500 = $8300 for that website Business owners are trying to save a buck by doing it themselves and completely avoiding the bigger.
