2 What is? is Royal Mail s new 70M investment that launched in April 2014 with a 2D Barcode indicia which will replace your existing franking impression and can improve the way that mail is processed. in conjunction with your franking machine will allow information to be passed between you and Royal Mail, and will give you access to services in a more efficient way.

Discounts (best value tariff for franking machines) All customers will receive additional postal discounts on every item they send over and above the existing savings on franked mail. Since its introduction the discounts have increased every year as part of Royal Mail s incentive to migrate all machines to print a barcode. Reply-paid envelopes Using you can provide your customers with the means to return important mail or documents. LAN/Wi-Fi connection Faster updates and automatic price changes. Enhanced reporting Giving you greater control and information with regards to your outgoing mail.

7 Extra EXCLUSIVE TO FP MAILING POSTBASE CUSTOMERS What is Extra? has become Royal Mail s best value tariff but as part of the migration from traditional franking to printing a 2D barcode, Extra has been developed to offer the biggest incentive to update your equipment. Discounts you can t ignore Extra is an exclusive tariff for FP Mailing PostBase Qi3, Qi4, Qi6, Qi9, TEN and ONE machine customers and adds an extra 1 pence (1p) discount to your First and Second Class Mail items for 12 months in addition to the tariff discount. These discounts extend to First and Second Class Letters and Large Letters and are added to existing discounts. As an example your Second Class Letter is priced at 58p using stamps, 44p with a non-barcoded frank, 39p with and only 38p with Extra. Extra increases the discount against stamp prices up to 34%, and up to 14% against traditional franking prices. 8 Reply-paid envelopes Using a franking machine you can now produce your own First and Second Class reply-paid envelopes which removes the date and includes a code that allows you to send out these envelopes to your own customers for them to return important documents, surveys, forms and goods etc. back to you. Same pricing as First and Second Class post No need to set up an account No need to hold stock of Freepost envelopes.

Q: What information does the new indicia include? A: The 2D barcode includes price, meter number, date, sorting office area, product, service, weight, carrier and unique item number. Q: Can I still use Businessmail? A: Yes,First and Second Class Businessmail is still available with your franking machine and will print your licence number along with the new indicia. Q: Do I still need an analogue phone line? A: No you can now connect your franking machine via LAN (Network port), Wi-Fi or 3G. Q: Will discounts be available to franking machine customers who are not using a machine? A: No you have to be using a machine to access these discounts.
