3 Drop- Off/Check- In Please register for a time to check- in and bring your items to the church. You can view time slots and select a check- in time through your account at Multiple trips at multiple times are allowed, but you only need to register for the first check- in time you will attend. Those who have registered for a check- in time will be given time- priority over those who have not, unless you have already checked in at a prior check- in time. If you cannot make your check- in time, we will do our best to accommodate you. Please contact Michelle Cryer by phone at to make alternate arrangements. During your check- in, please bring your items presorted according to category and size to the FBC gym. This makes the check- in process faster and smoother for everyone. Sellers will be asked to help put their items out on the sale floor once they have been inspected. We will have volunteers to assist with this process. Items will be rejected if they are not compliant with the Preparing Items for Sale: Quality and Preparing Items for Sale: Packaging sections of this document. Please read those sections carefully! This is critical to the quality of our sale! It protects your items and helps them sell better! Tags will be scanned to be sure they scan properly. If your tags do not scan, you will be asked to reprint your tags, so please prepare them correctly the first time! If you follow the directions in the Preparing Items for Sale: Tagging section of this document, you will not have a problem. The End of the Sale Sellers may choose to allow their items to be reduced to 50% of the original price during our Half- Off sale. The Half- Off Sale will be on Saturday, 8 a.m.- Noon. It provides an extra opportunity to sell your items before we close the sale. Items will only be sold at reduced prices if they are marked as discount: yes on the tag. Items marked discount: no will continue to be sold at full price during this time. However, it is almost exclusively discount: yes items that sell during this part of the sale. Thus, we encourage sellers to mark their items as such unless the item is of particular significance. You must pick up any items you want returned to you after the sale. It is the seller s responsibility to find and collect their items. Sellers may pick up items between Noon and 1 p.m. on Saturday. All items left after that time will be donated. Reports will be updated at the end of each sale day (Friday and Saturday), and you will be able to see the items sold on those days. To view the Settlement Report from that day, simply login to your account on the website. After the sale, you will be mailed a check for 70% of the total selling price of your items. Checks will be mailed out by May 15. We do our best to ensure the security of your items before and during the sale. However, we are not responsible for lost, missing, stolen, or damaged items. 3

4 Preparing Items for Sale / Quality We want our sale to maintain its reputation as a quality sale with quality items! Our good reputation makes your items sell better. Please, do not let children or parents be disappointed when they get home! Items must be in good condition no holes, stains, excessive wear, broken parts, etc. Items requiring batteries must have batteries in them to demonstrate working condition. No recalled items are allowed, even if they have been updated. This includes drop- side cribs that have been fixed. It is illegal to sell items that have been recalled. Items should not have content that is inappropriate for children, such as PG- 13 movies or objectionable books or games. Anything sold in original packaging must have all pieces present! This includes puzzles, Legos, bottles, etc. Items missing pieces may be sold only if the missing piece does not affect the integrity of the set and only if the buyer can clearly see what he/she is buying (e.g., sold in the original packaging which pictures items that aren t present). o Example of acceptable: a set of play food is missing the apple o Example of acceptable: miscellaneous Lego pieces in a bag o Example of unacceptable: a puzzle missing a piece o Example of unacceptable: a game missing a piece o Example of unacceptable: non- spill cups missing their valves o Example of unacceptable: a Lego set with the instruction manual or box that includes instructions for (or pictures of items made with) pieces not present Car seats must be less than five years old. When you drop off the seat at check- in, you will be asked to sign a waiver verifying that the seat has not been in an accident and that it is in good condition. We also check the dates and labels on the seat to confirm that it is saleable. Preparing Items for Sale / Packaging Non- Clothing Items: Tags may be secured to items using clear packaging tape. Please be careful not to tape over the barcode, as this can interfere with scanning the tag! Items requiring batteries must include batteries. This makes your item more likely to sell, as well as ensures the high quality of our sale. Items that have multiple pieces included should be placed in re- sealable plastic bags. Please tape the bags shut to prevent loss of items inside. (Examples: Legos, toy cars, Littlest Pet Shop, sippy cups, socks, shoes (if possible), game pieces, etc.) For large items with smaller items in the set: Package smaller items in re- sealable plastic bags and tape the bag securely to the large item in the set. Optional suggestion for larger items: If you have a set of several non- clothing items that you are selling as a group, you can use $0.00 to help ensure the group stays together. (You should also 4

5 make an effort to tape it or package it together, if possible). The first tag should be a normal tag, except that it should include 1 of 2 in the description. The second (or third, etc.) tag should be identical, except for two things: 1) Price should be set to $0.00, and 2) Description should say 2 of 2 instead of 1 of 2. (Please see the photo at the end of this section). Clothing and Layette Items: All general clothing items must be placed on hangers! This includes shirts, pants/shorts, jackets, pajamas, swimsuits, and costumes. Inexpensive hangers can be found at dollar stores, general merchandise stores such as Walmart/Target, and online. Hanging your clothes on appropriately sized hangers will help your items sell better, as the clothing items will look nicer! When hanging items, the hanger should point to the right shoulder or side of the garment. (Please see the photo at the end of this section). Tags should be attached to clothing items on the left shoulder or side of the garment. Please use safety pins to attach tags to garments. Do not use straight pins. Please see the photo at the end of this section. X- Small, Small, Medium, Large, X- Large, and Plus sizes are provided for Maternity clothing. When tagging children s items, please use numerical sizes instead whenever possible. Optional Suggestions: o Accessories such as hats, hair bows, socks, and underwear do not need hangers. They will be placed in bins and/or on tables for sale. These items generally sell best bagged in sets. o Layette items such as undershirts and onsies may be bagged in sets and sold. o Layette items such as small receiving blankets, burp cloths, and crib sheets sell best when bagged, even when bagged as a single item. o If you have a set of several clothing items that you are selling as a group, you can usually put them together on a hanger (using safety pins helps) and use one tag. In the item description, simply note it as such. (Ex: Gap 3- piece set; hat, shirt, shorts) 5

6 Preparing Items for Sale / Tagging When you are ready to enter items into the system, log in to your account on and go to the Enter Items tab. To ensure that your tags scan properly at the sale: You must use cardstock paper (at least 60# or 65# cardstock) to print your tags. This is essential to ensure proper scanning of items. You may use white or light/pastel cardstock, except for light blue. (The scanners will not work on blue tags, even if it is a light blue.) Do not use dark/bright, multicolored, or patterned paper of any color/colors. Print your tags with an inkjet printer (not a dot matrix, and not a laser). Use the normal setting when printing not best quality. Once your tags are printed, make sure the barcode is clear and is not either faded or excessively dark (lines bleeding into each other). The barcode lines should be crisp and clear. Do not put tape over the barcode. If you do not have access to a suitable printer, please contact us at: babybazaar@consolidated.net Only if you are transferring items from another sale/season: If you are transferring items from another sale/season, you must verify three items on your tags. Make sure that: 1. your seller number on your printed tags matches the registered seller number in the new sale/season 2. the tag s discount/donate options do not conflict with those on the Baby Bazaar tag 3. the tag s description length from the previous tag is not too long for the Baby Bazaar tag. To test your tags, simply generate a list of tags to print. Optional, to increase your efficiency: Use the Power Tagger feature to make tags for similar items. For example, if you wanted to price all 12 of your girls shirts at $2.00, you can tell the system to create 12 tags with the same item description, category, and price. The only disadvantage is that you will not be able to see which specific shirts sold, since the item description is the same for all of them. Please keep in mind that each item must have a unique tag with a unique barcode. Do not make photocopies of the tags! Use the Power Tagger feature instead! It is helpful to sort all of your items by category (clothing, toys, equipment, etc.) to increase your efficiency and speed your tagging process. Regarding clothing, sort by gender and then size. You will save a lot of time because you will only have to reenter the price and description for each similar item. You can avoid using the mouse entirely by simply using the tab button, selecting the first letter of each entry in the drop downs and the enter key to add items. If you need to edit anything, go the Manage Inventory screen. Here you can print inventory reports, mass edit items or individual items, and also see a Projected Settlement Report based on the items you have entered into the system. Printing can be performed at anytime, at intervals or all at once when you finish entering your items. 6
