1 Bonfire-KickFire Module About The Bonfire-KickFire module is Sitecore 8 xdb extension and service connection to the KickFire business lead identification service. KickFire uses IP lookup functionality against a rich IP database to return company, firmographic and social profile information. The Bonfire-KickFire module extends the xdb with a company tab that includes: Company name Address & phone Website Industry (SIC code) Size (revenue & employee count) Social account names We ve grouped the ~ 12,000 SIC codes into 82 industry groups. The Bonfire-KickFire module enables marketers to segment visitors, personalize content and launch engagement plans based off of company firmographic profile data. Installation & Configuration There are two parts of installation; configuring a KickFire account and installing the Sitecore module. KickFire Account To use the Bonfire-KickFire module you ll need a KickFire API account. You can register for a free trial account at Pricing for KickFire follows. 1

2 Once you have an account you ll need to set-up and security an API end point. 1. Name your access point 2. Select the Company end point 3. If you d like to restrict API access to a specific IP or range (recommended) you can do that 4. Create your access point Lastly, copy the API key. 2

3 Sitecore Download the Bonfire-KickFire module from the Sitecore Marketplace. Place the Bonfire.Kickfire.Analytics.update into a folder of your choosing. Visit the Update and installation wizard via the URL /sitecore/admin/updateinstallationwizard.aspx Select Choose Package. Select Choose File, and select the Bonfire.Kickfire.Analytics.update file. Click View page information. Select Analyze and install package 3

4 Click Install Once complete, click the installation result button. 4

5 Finally, perform a Site publish. This will push all the new profiles and patterns to the web database. Once the Bonfire-KickFire module has been installed you ll need to do a little bit of configuration. First, you ll need to add in your KickFire API key. From the Sitecore content editor go to System Modules KickFire Tracker Configuration. Paste in your API key. Note: There s a check box to allow you to skip sessions from ISPs (e.g., Comcast, Verizon, etc.). Unless you have a very unique business need, you ll probably want to check this box. The Bonfire-KickFire module includes a grouping of industries (Appendix A). Those industry groupings are also present within the Marketing Control Panel as profile keys and pattern cards. 5

6 When a visitor s company is identified as part of a particular industry group that visitor is assigned to the corresponding pattern card. This The Bonfire-KickFire module also includes an SIC code override function. Note: Most people won t setup SIC code overrides. If you want to override an SIC code you can do that by following these steps. Click insert SicCode from the Sic Code Overrides group. Name the override Enter the SIC code you d like to override and select the grouping that you d like it to go to. 6

7 Using the Bonfire-KickFire module Marketers can work with the Bonfire-KickFire module in the following ways. xdb Company data is available in the company tab of the xdb visitor profile. Engagement plan The Bonfire-KickFire module ships with visitor segmentation engagement plan framework. You can configure this engagement plan to place visitors into an engagement plan state and send you a notification . From there, you can build out your personalization and marketing automation strategy for each visitor segment. 7
