The term has many meanings! Maintain, support, strengthen, endure, withstand, nourish, or not depleting. How do we practice sustainability in terms of the services we provide and the products we apply? How do we market this facet of what we do for those who are selecting a lawn, landscape or tree service? 1 CCH in Category 2-3A - 3B - RT

6 THE 30TH ANNUAL Summer FIELD DAY THURSDAY August 25, 2016 Hendricks County Conference Center & Fairgrounds SOUTH HALL 9:00 to 10:00 am The Turf Year to Date DR. AARON PATTON n Purdue University Turfgrass Extension Specialist Aaron Patton returns with his annual update on growing conditions so far this year. While we had a relatively mild winter, it will be interesting to see how growing conditions play out moving through summer. The questions are the same, but the answers may be different as we prepare for the fall of 2016 and the year ahead. Aaron brings great perspective to this topic. 1 CCH in Category 3B - RT 10:00 to 11:00 am I Can Spray and Save RANDY ZONDAG n Lake County Ohio Extension Here we will cover the understanding of how sprayers work and why we over-apply pesticides today. We will show what is proper coverage to control pests and help applicators look at the tools they can use, in the field, to access good application quality. TIM GIBB n Purdue University Working outside is a major benefit of our industry. Stinging insects are not a benefit! This talk will focus on the identification and biology of many stinging insects including paper wasps, bees, hornets, yellow jackets, mud daubers, and cicada killers. While their stings always hurt, they can cause more serious health issues such as painful swelling, nausea, anaphylactic shock, and more. Identification, and perhaps control, is very important. 1 CCH in Category 2-3A - 3B - 6-7A - RT 2:15 to 3:15 pm The Liability of Being Underinsured DR. FRED WHITFORD, MR. DAVE SCOTT, MR. CHRIS MOORE One of IPLLA s ongoing concerns is that many commercial applicators operate without proper insurance coverage for the business they run. What is appropriate vehicle coverage? Do you have enough and proper liability insurance? What are the legal requirements of Workers Compensation insurance? How is other equipment insured and what happens when the inevitable accident occurs? 1 CCH in Category 2-3A - 3B A - RT
