1 I am home to lots of different animals, including cows I can be found all over the country I m looked after every day by a farmer I mix and heat the milk to separate it into two parts; skimmed milk and cream I need to have lots of food to keep the animals full and happy I will sometimes add different things into the product, like strawberries or chocolate I can be very muddy, so if you re coming to visit, wear your wellies I get very busy in the summer when the weather is hot I can be really big, with hedges separating my fields The product I make can go into supermarkets, but also into vans that drive around Supply Chain 1 (Ice Cream - IC) Dairy Farm & Creamery

2 I need to be really cold to make sure the product doesn t melt I get really full just before summer The product can stay inside me for days, weeks or months because I can keep it cool I also have really big freezers, to make sure the product is cold for the customer I can be both big and small, depending on who owns me I receive lots of different products from lots of different places I have really high shelves for holding lots of products I can be big and small, and am all over the UK When the product is ready to go, someone will come and collect it from my shelves I receive the products from storage at just the right time to sell to my customers Supply Chain 1 (Ice Cream - IC) Warehouse & Supermarket (4/6)

3 People come to buy a huge range of products from me The money I spend flows all the way back up to the farmer Sometimes I will have promotions on that mean you can get two of something for the price of one I am the person who gets to enjoy all of the hard work put into manufacturing the product I have lots and lots of products to choose from I love this product all year round, but mostly buy the product when the weather is warm Sometimes I like to have two different types of the product at the same time, with a flake! 4 I m outdoors and really rather large I m looked after by a farmer I ve got lots of fields where things grow I used to be powered by water or wind, but now I m mostly electric I could be home to lots of animals too I grind the wheat crop that the farmer give me into a fine powder You might see a combine harvester, or a tractor I put the fine powder into bags, big and small The crops you ll need are grown on me You can buy the bags of what I produce at the supermarket Supply Chain 2 (Bread - BR) Wheat Farm & Mill (4/6)

5 You can use what I make to bake with I put the loaves in great big ovens, so I get very hot I m looked after by a miller I put the cooked loaves into bags, sometimes it s sliced, sometimes it s left whole I get deliveries of flour from the Mill I m looked after by a Baker I mix the flour with water and yeast in great big mixers When the product is ready to go, someone will come and collect it from my shelves I cut and shape the mixture into loaves As soon as I receive the product I try and move it on quickly, so it doesn't go stale Supply Chain 2 (Bread - BR) Mill (2/6), Bakery & Warehouse (2/4)

6 I get lots and lots of different types of the product from different bakers I display the product on shelves for customers to buy Normally I am very big and outside of cities I buy the final product I get freshly baked bread delivered by the baker I have a choice of where I go to buy the product Lots and lots of people come to me to buy their bread and groceries I might use it as I buy it, or change it in some way I sell a huge variety of things, from bread to washing up powder I hand over money that flows all the way through the supply chain Supply Chain 2 (Bread - BR) Warehouse (2/4), Supermarket & End Customer

7 I produce a soft and fluffy material that can be used in lots of different products, including clothes I am looked after by a farmer and lots of workers I grow rows and rows of bushes that have little bolls of material on I turn the fluffy material into layers of fabric I am more productive if I am in hot climates I cut the fabric to make sure it s the right size for the product I sometimes have machines that do work for me I have lots of machines that do the work for me I need to make sure I grow the crops in the right seasons I need to make lots of small pieces to build the full product Supply Chain 3 (Toy - TO) Cotton Farm & Weaving 4/5

8 I can produce wasted material if things go wrong I can turn the liquid I pull up into lots of things, including fuel for cars I drill down into the earth to pull liquid up I turn a liquid product, into a solid product The raw material I pull up can be used to make lots of different things I make products that can be used in lots of different ways to make different products I can be on land, or in the sea I can make things into any colour I want I can be a very dangerous place, so need to be careful I can be bad for the environment if I am not following the rules Supply Chain 3 (Toy - TO) Weaving 1/5, Oil Drilling & Plastic Factory 4/5

9 People can make lots of different things out of the plastic I produce I am a very noisy place and sometimes annoy my neighbours I have to make sure I have all the parts before I can make a toy I can get very busy and full in the run up to Christmas I can be very big and you will find a lot of me in China I receive products from all over the world, before sending them out across the UK I get very busy before Christmas I am normally very big and out of town I have lots of people working at me I have lots of shelving so I can store lots of products Supply Chain 3 (Toy - TO) Plastic Factory 1/5, Toy Factory & Warehouse

10 I can sometimes be found in city centres, but also out of town at retail parks I can choose between a large variety of the products on offer I receive products from lots of different places I normally buy this type of product in December and for birthdays Lots of people visit me before Christmas I only buy products that are not damaged or broken You have loads of fun with the products I sell I don t like it when what I want is not there I sell lots of different types of toys so everyone can get what they want I hand over money that flows all the way through the supply chain Supply Chain 3 (Toy - TO) Toy Store & End Customer
