ABOUT THE SURVEY Goal: Get feedback from the general public about preferences for transit service in Tarrant County and beyond Wanted to reach a broader cross-section of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, especially those who may not currently use transit service Conducted onboard The T Master Plan project bus Survey was open between April 10 and September 3, 2015 The bus was brought to 17 events during this period Survey was completed by 590 respondents 3

WHO WE HEARD FROM Transit Use: The project bus succeeded in reaching those who do not use transit or who use it only occasionally Place of Residence: The project bus also succeeded in reaching a broader crosssection of residents in Tarrant County and just outside the county No response 5% 2-4 days a week 6% Once a week 5% 1-3 times a month 8% 5 or more days a week 15% Less than once a month 22% I never ride transit 44% Live Outside of Fort Worth 55% Live in Fort Worth 40% 4

WHY DON T YOU RIDE? What are the main reasons you don t take transit? Most non-riders (91) indicated that they do not use transit because there is no service where they live No service where I live Need car for work Can't get where I need to go Driving and parking is more economical and efficient Takes too long I do not know how to use transit 42 Non-riders also said that they need a car for work (56) or that they can t get where they need to go using transit (56). Makes me feel uncomfortable or unsafe Not frequent enough Other (please specify) Doesn't run at the right times Hard to understand how to get where I need to go I bike or walk most places Not reliable

HOW CAN WE IMPROVE? What could The T do better? Respondents who currently use transit indicated that The T should add service where they live (115) and run buses more often (112). Add service where I live Run buses more often Make it easier to understand how to get where I want to go Run service earlier or later in the day 83 Transit users also indicated that it should be easier to understand how to get where they want to go (84), and that service should run longer during the day (83). Make service more reliable Improve comfort and safety Other (please specify) Make trips shorter

IMPROVE VS. EXPAND Make existing routes better, or add routes to new areas? Make existing service better Add service to new areas Ü Respondents overwhelmingly prefer to see service expanded to new areas. This holds among respondents regardless of where they live or whether they currently use transit. Among those who use transit the most often (more than once a week), 58% would still prefer adding service to new areas. Ü This speaks to the limited scope of The T s current service and the need for transit to expand beyond the current service areas. 8 AMBITION OF THE T MASTER PLAN How ambitious should the T Master Plan be? More ambitious plan, even with a higher cost Less ambitious plan that costs less Ü Respondents want a more ambitious plan, even if it costs more than a smaller plan. This preference transcends both transit use and place of residence. This preference speaks to a broader interest in planning for and investing in a more robust transit network in Tarrant County and beyond. This is particularly true among respondents who do not currently use transit.
