3 elikhulu inspires public-private-community cooperation JSE- and AIM-listed Pan African Resources is a long-standing Aprio client. We provide strategic investor and media relations, and more recently, community engagement services to the gold producer. In 2017, Aprio assisted Pan African with the sod-turning ceremony for its flagship R1.74-billion tailings retreatment project, Elikhulu. Just 11 months later, on 16 August 2018, we were back at Evander, Mpumalanga, having organised the inaugural gold pour event for the project. Elikhulu is a beacon of good news in a sector beleaguered by retrenchments. The event was attended by a host of local and national dignitaries, included Mineral Resources Minister Gwede Mantashe and the tribal Chiefs from host communities, as well as a solid cohort of print and broadcast media. Minister Mantashe said he expected Elikhulu to have a positive impact on the economy of the community of Evander and exhorted beneficiaries to invest their money to grow their businesses and create new employment within the area and beyond. Elikhulu is 30% owned by workers, local community and empowerment partners. During construction, the project paid R162-million to 67 local contracting companies as part of its preferential procurement programme and Pan African Resources also invested R2.4-million in upgrading the infrastructure of four local schools. Apart from news-hour broadcast coverage about the event on the SABC, enca and Afro Worldview, Creamer Media s Mining Weekly posted the following video of the event and Minister Mantashe tweeted his own video of the inaugural gold pour on his Twitter timeline. The Elikhulu Project is expected to produce about oz/y of gold for 14 years and has created 400 permanent jobs. Speaking at the event, Pan African Resources CEO Cobus Loots said Elikhulu was testament to the art of the possible. It demonstrates what can happen when business, government, regulators, capital, professionals and the community work together. 3/5

4 richards bay mounded lpg facility ground -breaking ceremony Bidvest Tank Terminals and Petredec celebrated the start of construction on a R1 billion Mounded Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) import and storage facility in Richards Bay, which will ultimately ensure that LPG is a cost-effective, reliable and safe energy source for southern Africa. The facility will be the largest in Africa and will significantly increase the supply of LPG to South Africa and allow for exports of the fuel to neighbouring countries. South Africa currently uses approximately tonnes of LPG annually. The Mounded LPG Facility is expected to increase this by 50% of tonnes a year. End-to-end LPG supply requires a vast national value chain. This will expand as a consequence of this facility being commissioned. Expanding the supply will result in job creation across the LPG-supply value chain and potential cost savings mainly to rural consumers and businesses. The increased and sustainable supply will mean that the price of LPG will compete favourably with that of other energy sources, while an increased use of LPG in homes as opposed to alternatives such as wood and paraffin will ameliorate the significant health impacts of these fuels. The Richards Bay Mounded LPG Facility is expected to be operational in David Leisegang CEO of Bidvest Tank Terminals (left) and Mayor MG Mhlongo of City of umhlathuze (second from left) and representatives of Bidvest, Transnet and Petredec get together to break ground at the Richards Bay site. 4/5
