2 THE BACKSTORY As a thriving franchise organization with more than 19,000 sales associates in more than 65 countries, the Sotheby s International Realty brand is committed to bringing people together. For more than 10 years, the brand has hosted the Sotheby s International Realty Global Networking Event, which encourages in-person networking among sales associates. Sotheby International Realty had a goal to create an opportunity for sales associates to come together to discuss their businesses, learn from some of the top experts and become better equipped to serve their clients. As a thriving franchise organization with more than 19,000 sales associates in more than 65 countries, the Sotheby s International Realty brand is committed to bringing people together. INDUSTRY Real Estate When it came time for Christian Russo, Director of Interactive Marketing, to plan the 2016 event, he was intent on creating an app that would connect people on a deeper level. Attendify was chosen because it was the most interactive, engaging and cost-effective option evaluated. One of the primary reasons we moved toward Attendify a"er looking at other alternatives was its central interactive element. The activity stream is the first thing you see when you open the app; you can see everyone talking to each other, said Russo. 3 THE GOAL An interactive, engaging app that boosts value for attendees Russo and his team at Sotheby s International Realty wanted to create something that went beyond the standard, static app attendees were used to. Their goal was to increase value with a more interactive and engaging app experience. They were also searching for a solution that had a social element at its core so attendees could keep networking front and center, as this is one of the main goals of the event. Going in, we wanted the app to cover the basics a schedule, maps providing the layout of the venue and speaker profiles. Attendify presented a lot of other features that we hadn t seen before. For example, they were able to make the maps interactive. The app also had the ability for attendee profiles to have multiple features built right in. 4 THE SOLUTION An event app with engagement like never before Once the app was available to download, an announcement was sent through both social media and a targeted . Russo and his team immediately began to see activity buzzing within the app. It was incredible. Within a day or two, people were posting photos, starting conversations and building custom schedules for the event it was something we had never seen before. When the Sotheby s International Realty Global Networking Event finally came around, the app s interactive features proved to be extremely helpful for attendees to locate events and speakers.

5 THE SOLUTION At previous events, we d have people stop to ask us for directions as they shuffled between breakout sessions. With our Attendify app, attendees could pull up the interactive map and locate exactly where they needed to go, said Russo. Russo and his team were floored with the results produced by their Attendify app. We had well over 2,000 downloads, more than 200,000 sessions, and saw more than 37,000 interactions within the app. It was incredible looking at how many people not only used the app, but interacted with each other and saw value in it, he said.

6 WHAT S NEXT Leveraging more Attendify features and data at future events Moving forward, Russo and his team plan to leverage additional Attendify features to further improve upon the app in coming years. We were impressed at all of the added value capabilities that Attendify offered, so looking ahead, we ll be building on some of those elements. Push notifications were one feature we didn t really think we d use, but it became useful if we needed to communicate with an individual at the event or if we wanted to send a notification to all of the Sotheby s International Realty staff at once, said Russo. Overall, the event went extremely well, and thanks to the app built by Attendify, attendees walked away with a better experience and more value than ever before.
