1 November 25, 2013 ADDENDUM NO. 1 FOR PIPE, FITTINGS, VALVES AND ACCESSORIES SPECIFICATION NO RFQ NO For which bids are scheduled to open in the Bid & Bond Room 301, City Hall, 121 N. LaSalle Street Chicago, Illinois 60602, at 11:00 a.m. Central Time, on December 6, BIDDERS MUST ACKNOWLEDGE RECEIPT OF THIS ADDENDUM IN THE SPACE PROVIDED ON THE PROROSAL EXECUTION PAGE 1. Revision No. 1; Remove Section 5.1 General and Replace with the following: 5.1 General The Contractor will furnish and deliver F.O.B. Destination (City of Chicago), Pipe Fittings, Valves and Accessories in accordance with the City of Chicago Plumbing Code, and as required with the terms and conditions of this specification. 2. Revision No. 2; Remove Section 5.2, Basis of Award and Replace with the following: 5.2, Basis of Award In the event that a contract is awarded pursuant to this specification, the Chief Procurement Officer will award such contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder as determined by the bid price, including any statutorily mandated adjustments to the bid price as applicable, meeting the terms and conditions set out in the Bid Documents. Bidders must quote all line items within a group however bidders are not required to bid on all Groups. Bids submitted to the contrary will be considered incomplete, and as a result, will be rejected. Contractor may be awarded one (1) or more Groups. The Contractor s bid pricing must incorporate any/all peripheral costs including, but not limited to the costs of materials, transportation, guarantee, assembly, etc., required by the specification. Bidder must bid a discount or mark-up on the manufacturer s latest catalog, and the bidder whose bid would represent the lowest cost to the City would be awarded the contract. Group A: Pipe (Line Items 5 through 7, 43,61) Group B: Valves (Line Items 8, 10 through 20, 22, 23) Group C: Fittings (Line Items 24 through 28, 30, 32 through 42, 44, 53, 54, 62) Group D: Accessories (Line 1, 9, 21, 45 through 52, 55 through 60) The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to award Contracts or reject any or all bids when, in her opinion, the best interest of the City will be served thereby. The Contractor s bid pricing will incorporate any/all peripheral costs including, but not limited to the costs of (products/services), delivery/transportation charges, training, materials, labor, insurance, applicable taxes, warranty, overhead and profit, etc. that are required by this Specification. 3. Revision No.3; Remove Section 5.5, Price Lists/Catalogs and Replace with the following: 5.5, Price Lists/Catalogs For bid evaluation purposes, the bidder will submit with its bid one (1) copy of price lists/catalogs quoted on the Proposal Page. Failure to furnish price lists may be cause for rejection of the bid for being non-responsive to this requirement. Before a Contract can be awarded, the Contractor must submit copies of all current manufacturers or other accepted published price lists/catalogs indicated on the Proposal Page(s) or Equivalent Manufacturers/Price Specification: , Pipe, Fittings, Valves and Accessories

2 List/Catalogs for use by the Department of Procurement Services, Comptroller s Office and each participating department to facilitate audit of all invoices and purchase order releases off the Contract. The Contractor will be responsible for forwarding new price lists/catalogs or supplements of latest revision to all participating City departments, the Comptroller s Office and Department of Procurement Services during the Contract period. All pricing will be governed by the latest editions or supplements to manufacturers published price lists/catalogs unless specified otherwise on the Proposal Page(s). The Contractor will be responsible for notifying the Chief Procurement Officer, at least thirty (30) calendar days in advance of any price changes and/or issuance of revised price lists prior to submittal of invoices with new prices. 4. Revision No. 4 Remove Proposal Pages and Replace with the attached. 5. Questions & Answers: Question No. 1. What is the correct Bid Opening date? Response: Bid Opening date is December 6, Question No. 2. In the Detailed Specifications, Scope of Work, 5.2, Basis of Award it states that contracts will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder per group, and that bidders have to bid on all line itmes within the group; and provides a breakdown of the line itmes within each group. The Detailed Specifications, 5.2. Basis of Award line item grouping does not match the Line Item grouping. Response: See Revision No. 2. Question No. 3. The line item description is not descriptive enough to know what the City wants in regards to the manufacturer s reference catalog. Response: Pipe, Fittings, Valves and Accessories are in accordance with City of Chicago Plumbing Code. Question No. 4. For lines 1, 2, and 3, we are unable to locate the following manufacturers: Carbon Steel & Chicago Card Catalog? Please confirm these are the correct names. Response: Buttweld is the confirmed product for this Specification. See Revision Number 4 for Revised Proposal Pages. Question No. 5. Line #29 is for Johnson Pipe catalog, how can we bid on a distributor catalog? Response: See Revision Number 4 for Revised Proposal Pages. Question No. 6. Lines #34, #42, and #52 make no catalog or manufacturer reference. Response: See Revision Number 4 for Revised Proposal Pages and Revision Number 3, Price Lists/Catalogs. Equivalent manufacturers can be submitted. Question No. 7. Line #44 for Sanymetal has an estimated usage of $ 1,103,900.00, is this a typo? The last contract had an estimated usage of $ Response: See Revision Number 4 for Revised Proposal Pages. Question No. 8. Can we bid on equivalent manufacturers? Response: See Revision Number 3, Price Lists/Catalogs.
