1 Software Solutions Educate Consumers with Creative Engagement Consumer Engagement Portal for Utilities

2 To reap additional benefits from the smart grid, leading utilities increasingly engage consumers in creative ways that build strong relationships. From empowering consumers with better information to enabling behavioral demand response, implementing dynamic pricing, or inviting consumers to participate in a better mix of energy sources, the Honeywell Consumer Engagement Portal can help you establish responsive, valuable connections with your customers. This portal provides your customers with an enhanced way to monitor their electric, gas, or water consumption and better manage their costs via both web and mobile devices. KEY ADVANTAGES FOR UTILITIES Reduces customer service expenses individual consumption, prices, and options are communicated directly to the consumer Postpones capital expenditures on new electricity generation due to changes in consumption behavior Promotes your utility brand as a worthwhile investment and a good corporate or community citizen Reduces IT expenses with a fully managed softwareas-a-service (SaaS) option KEY ADVANTAGES FOR CONSUMERS Tips on conservation and energy savings An understanding of electricity rates throughout the day, as well as the impact of weather and appliance use Helps reduce monthly utility bills to stay within budget Immediate access to information, reducing calls to customer service Smoother customer service calls both consumer and utility can see the same information The portal enables consumers to save money by showing the effect of switching rate programs, if offered by the utility. 3 Promotes consumer ease of access, cost savings, and reliable information Electricity, gas, and water use: Averages and actual consumption data for historical and current bill period by interval, day, week, month, and TOU period. Consumption forecast: Consumer preview of future usage based upon rate and historical consumption patterns. Temperature-to-energy-consumption correlation: Compares local temperature data with energy consumption and/or costs; helps consumer understand how weather affects utility bills. Rate-option comparison: Provides rate options that could reduce the customer's bill; options are based upon consumption history. Usage alerts: Lets the consumer set notification thresholds such as energy use or billing charges for the current period; the consumer will receive their choice of text or notification when they approach or exceed a threshold. Neighborhood-usage comparisons: Enables the consumer to benchmark their consumption to other residential accounts within a defined radius. Mobile device access: Consumers can access their data from a smart phone or tablet. Social media access: Users can log in and authenticate via Facebook, Twitter, and Linked-In accounts for further convenience. Utilities appreciate ease of deployment, improved customer service, and security By integrating Meter Data Management (MDM) data with Customer Information System (CIS) account details, weather, peak times or pricing, and energy-saving tips, the Consumer Engagement Portal: Supports most MDM and CIS systems: Standard protocols such as MultiSpeak enable the utility to use an already deployed MDM or integrate with Honeywell Connexo Insight MDM. Consumer billing charges on the portal are expressed in the monetary unit used by the CIS. Customized branding: The portal looks like your utility to the consumer; Honeywell incorporates utility branding as part of the portal deployment. Some additional customization by the utility is also supported. Customer service visibility: Concurrent access by customer service representative (CSR) and consumer simplifies issues and complaint resolution. SaaS (hosted) or on-premise options: Well matched to your budget and IT resources, with optional hosting by Honeywell, or installation on your in-house server. Robust, validated security: Penetration testing by objective third party illuminated potential security weaknesses and validated corrections. Standardized with Green Button Download: Uses REQ.21 the Energy Service Provider Interface (ESPI) standard for exchanging information about a consumer s energy usage, as established by the North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB).

4 Quick resolution and easy to understand: Consumers and customer service see exactly the same information. Your utility s colors and logo replace Cutting Edge Utility on this page and others. With either deployment option, branding customization is included at no additional cost. Consumers can view average use daily, weekly, and monthly, on- and off-peak. Residential consumers with multiple accounts can choose to aggregate or show properties separately; useful when tracking rental or vacation property. Neighbor comparison lets consumers measure themselves against others in the area. Both accounts and outside temperatures are tracked. Bill estimation enables consumers to see the previous month and look ahead to anticipate the coming month's bill. Honeywell Consumer Engagement Portal
