2 XOTELIA, A TAILORED SOLUTION FOR SMALL, MEDIUM AND FAMILY RUN HOSPITALITY BUSINESSES Xotelia developed a booking solution for innkeepers managing small/medium sized hotels, guesthouses, apartments or villas. The software allows them to manage their online exposure on more than 50 online travel agencies (OTA), both local and global. The major OTAs such as Booking, Airbnb, Flipkey team up with Xotelia. BEFORE Manual updates of the rates and availabilities on every distribution website. AFTER Rates and availabilities are automatically and instantly updated and pushed from the Xotelia interface to the different websites.. Xotelia centralizes the bookings made through the different OTAs but also from the innkeeper's website and the Facebook page of his/her business. 3 THE ANSWER TO THE SHIFT OF THE ONLINE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY The rapid development of the online travel agencies and some websites like Airbnb disrupt the way innkeepers manage their B&B or vacation rentals around the world. For the past 15 years, online travel agencies became key players of the hospitality industry. The strong growth of the online travel agencies According to a study made from the Direction Générale de la Concurrence, de la Consommation et de la Répression des Fraudes (DGCCRF) in France, the turnover of the Online Travel Agencies reached 12,4 billion in 2013 ( 4,2 billion in 2006). 8 A fast growing start-up Created in 2012, Xotelia manages nearly 25,000 units. The average monthly growth of units is 10%. During the 3rd quarter of 2015, Xotelia generated over 40 million of bookings (2 times more than during the 1st quarter of 2015). Exportations are growing really fast. During the 1st quarter of 2015, they represented 30% of the total turnover. Late 2015, the trend reversed: 70% of the subscriptions are sold outside of France and the international sales team is twice bigger than the French sales team. In average, two new markets are opened every month. The investment fund Newfund injected 1.3 million in Xotelia during the spring The objective is to reach 50,000 units by the end of The Founder Born in the USA, Jeffrey Messud graduated at the end of 2010 with a Bachelor degree with honors in Finance, Revenue Management and Real Estate at Glion Swiss Hospitality Management School. Following his graduation, he started working as Revenue Specialist at Expedia and rapidly changed to become Sales Manager in Doha, Qatar for Movenpick Hotels. Beginning 2012, he launched Xotelia.
