2 THE EVENT GPA Europe AGM and Technical Conference Developments in Separation Technologies GPA Europe s 2018 AGM and Technical Conference will take place at the Hilton London Paddington, London, UK on 22 November. A conference and networking event organised for the European gas processing industry. The meetings are FREE to all members and employees of member companies. Non-members are welcome to attend at a fee of 100 / 115. A nominal charge of 30 / 36 is required from all delegates attending lunch. Who are we? GPA Europe Ltd is leading the gas processing midstream conferences. Our role is two-fold within the European gas processing industry: 1 GPA Europe promotes technical and operational excellence 2 GPA Europe serves as a forum for the exchange of ideas and information Why attend? Our AGM and Technical Conference offers a fantastic networking opportunity and brings together business leaders and topic experts from a range of gas processing institutions and partners. Come along and discover some innovative ideas that can enhance your business operations. The day combines a Knowledge Session with the company s AGM and a Technical Meeting with high quality presentations. You are invited to relax at the end of the day, at a complimentary bar to provide a networking opportunity to all delegates. Location The event will take place in the Great Western Suite of the Hilton London Paddington on Praed Street, London. There is a direct link from the hotel into Paddington Station, with access to Heathrow The hotel is currently inside the London Congestion Zone so if you expect to travel by car through the zone it is recommended that you purchase the congestion charge in advance ( Accommodation-inclusive rates are not available for this meeting. If you require accommodation, please make your own arrangements.

3 THE PROGRAMME We are delighted to present our 1-day programme to you. Please note this is a provisional programme and subject to change. Information is being added regularly so do come back! Thursday 22 November 2018 Knowledge Session 09:00 12:00 Avoiding common pitfalls in separator design and analysing operations problems Tom Ralston and Wim Moyson MySep Two- and three-phase separators are core elements of gas production, LNG and Midstream gas processing. Poor performance of separation equipment is associated with $10,000,000s production losses daily, across the industry. What goes wrong? How can we fix? How can we avoid mal-performance? This is a two-part presentation and interactive-workshop session. Part 1: MySep will discuss some of the more common pitfalls in design including: inappropriate performance requirements; reliance on hardware-vendor performance guarantee; potential for non-ideal flow conditions; impact of sizing and layout of upstream piping. Drawing on over two decades of trouble-shooting and debottlenecking experience worldwide the presentations will feature comprehensive case studies including real industry applications. Material will include illustrations and videos of CFD modelling and physical lab testing. Coffee Break Part 2: MySep lead an interactive workshop session looking at common design challenges and drawing on input and feedback from the audience. Examples of good design practice will be illustrated with some live demonstration exploiting the MySep software application. Retro-fit studies, considering requirements beyond the original design envelope, will be explored as will screening of designs for floating production and processing. Embedding rigorous separator modelling inside process simulation is one of the latest areas of technical development from MySep. This permits operators to optimize overall process performance more effectively and allows a more holistic approach to optimization of the process, benefiting conceptual studies, FEED and detailed engineering. The impact MySep- RunTime will be demonstrated live within Aspen HYSYS steady state and dynamic simulations. Lunch & Networking Break

4 AGM 13:00 14:00 Annual General Meeting Steve O Donnell, Chairman of GPA Europe Coffee Break Technical Sessions 14:20 15:05 Gas Dehydration Three-in One Design Approach to TEG Contactor Tower Dag Kvamsdal, Schlumberger TEG Gas Dehydration plants often use an inlet and outlet gas scrubber. The first to protect the TEG unit the second to prevent TEG losses and reduce downstream problems. Slumberger have found a way to include both within the Dehydration Contactor tower. This eliminates two coded pressure vessels and their valves, instruments and piping. The same performance achieved at lower CAPEX and smaller footprint. This paper will discuss some real-life stories where this approach has been successfully followed as well as some of the challenges in doing so. Coffee Break 15:30 16:15 Making sure your separator can handle pigging liquids Katerina Souskova and Lucas Garfield, Bryan Research & Engineering High pressure separation is first unit operation in most oil and gas facilities. Their role is complex. Wellsite fluids transported to processing facilities in pipelines are subject to pressure and temperature changes as well as trajectory changes during transmission. The need to pig the incoming lines adds another complexity. Correctly predicting the liquid holdup in a pipeline requires both an accurate thermodynamic and hydraulic model. The thermodynamic model must correctly predict the phase behaviour of the fluid and the hydraulic model must account for vapour-liquid slip in the pipeline. Key topics are the characterization of the wellsite fluid and the influence of inclination changes on two-phase flow and liquid holdup. This paper describes how Bryan Research & Engineering make sure that the separator can handle the additional liquids from pigging. 16:15 17:00 Separation Not Working? Look outside the box Logan Grim Wood Wood have developed a methodology that quickly and holistically reviews separator designs. It covers everything from the inlet line to the drum and final mist eliminator. This presentation will take you through the key elements of inlet pipe design, some of the elements of the model and how it can be used to avert design problems in the initial stages of development and in troubleshooting operating vessels. 17:00 19:00 Networking Reception
